Are the fastpass systems between parks connected? I assume not.

I can't imagine why it would matter, how it could possibly affect you.

Are you talking about, for example, going to Epcot, snagging Soarin' FPs, then leaving to go to MGM and wondering if you'll be permitted to get Tower of Terror FPs as soon as you get there? That (or a similar) scenario is the only way I could imagine it would matter.

Well, you'd kill a substantial amount of your "wait" window just accomplishing the park hopping.
