Thoughts & Info on early December

Hi Everyone!
We just got back last night from our September trip and have decided that September is NOT the time for us! Too hot/humid and too much rain!

We are thinking of mid-December 2008, like the 13-19th.
Can anyone give any input on this time of year?

Mid December actually seems to be less crowded than early December these days. Of course, crowds would pick up closer to the 19th, but still shouldn't be bad at all. Look in Info Central for all of the holiday stuff. I also recommend looking at the bottom of Info Central in the weather section for the historic temps. You can see the actual weather conditions by date for the last 4 years. While September is fairly uniformly warm, December can be totally unpredictable. You might have 40 degrees and rain or 80 and sun. You could even have those days back to back. You just never know. You're much more likely to have rain in December than September, but you're less likely to have a hurricane! The rain you see in September is just normal afternoon thunderstorms that are over in an hour while in December you can get those 2-3 straight days of continuous rain. Still, I think you would enjoy this time of year!

Those dates are probably my favorite time to visit! Crowds to being to pick up as you get closer to the actual holiday.

The one downside is that the weather can be quite variable at that time of year. On our last December trip - three years ago - we hit a real cold spell. The night we attended Mickey's Christmas party, we were wearing winter gear and we were still cold!

Most times, though, our December trips have been quite mild, generally warm enough for shorts and swimming.

We went to WDW Dec 21-30, 2006 and were really worried about the crowds. The crowds didn't really pick up until the 26th. It was great! Even during the busier days, we still had fun in the parks.......just did things a little differently. An early start is a must. Even though the weather is very unpredictable, you can get really nice days that time of year. Hope you have a great trip!
