Hello, I'm new to Intercot but I love the site so far! My fiance and I will be traveling on the 4 day cruise on October 28-November1 and are so excited to go! We just booked about 2 weeks ago and will be flying in on Saturday night and staying at the Hyatt. I booked us on the Category 12-Inside stateroom to save a little money. Has anyone ever stayed in this room before? I hope we won't be disappointed but when I looked all the rooms looked so nice. I recently found out (after a YEAR of wedding planning) that I am pregnant. I have faxed in the medical form and got clearance from my doctor so I am perfectly safe to travel! I found it a little disappointing when I tried to make reservations for Palo, and stated this was our honeymoon, that they were already sold out. They told me via email to just try and get in when we get on the boat. Does anyone know if the chances of getting in once on board are good or not? I was again disappointed to find out that I can not participate in the Swimming with the dolphins excursion! I feel like saying I'm pregnant not dead! So my next question would be, has anyone gone to the Atlantis Aquarium excursion (we are not big gamblers so don't really want to do the casion portion)? I put it down on our wish list but don't yet know if we will go. So this is our first cruise, first honeymoon, and first pregnancy so does any one have any other valuable tips? I hope the cruise honeymoon is as magical as the land honeymoon (Bride and Goom Mickey hats ring a bell?). We really want to keep our costs down with the baby on the way and everything so I think something like the spa would probally be out for us. Thanks so much for all the other helpful information on the site!:mickey:

Has anyone ever stayed in this room before? I hope we won't be disappointed but when I looked all the rooms looked so nice. All the rooms are nice and really choice of stateroom category is a personal one. You may find it much more relaxing to be on a lower deck and not always feeling the motion of the ship. There are plenty of public places to grab a lounge chair and sit outside.
I found it a little disappointing when I tried to make reservations for Palo, and stated this was our honeymoon, that they were already sold out.
They only release a certain number for online booking. You're pretty much guaranteed that you will be able to get a dinner reservation there. Every guest is limited to only making one, so you can't have guests taking all the reservations. You may just need to be more flexible with what night you'd like to go and make that reservation when you get on board the ship. They usually have a dining setup in one of the lounges.
So my next question would be, has anyone gone to the Atlantis Aquarium excursion (we are not big gamblers so don't really want to do the casion portion)? I put it down on our wish list but don't yet know if we will go.While it's convenient to book this as an excursion, you don't have to. You can head over to the Atlantis on your own and purchase the wrist bands for the aquarium separately.

Congrats of all the big happenings! I know the Disney folks will make your honeymoon a special one! Don't worry about missing out on the spa stuff -- massages when pregnant just don't feel the same since they really can't get into the deep tissue massage. Get to the Palo reservation line as soon as you get on the ship and I bet something will be available. If not, ask to be put on a waiting list. I think it's really wonderful that you are able to take this special trip and enjoy the couples-only time.

I don't know if morning sickness has been an issue, but talk to your dr. before you go about seasickness and how to prevent it. The only time I was sick during when pregnant with DS#1 was on a choppy sea ferry in Europe.

Congratulations!!

We did the cruise as part of our honeymoon, and we had a wonderful time. I agree with the other posters, that you should be able to get a reservation once you get on board. I've been on the cruise in Oct before, and it just didn't seem as "full" as it did for New Years Eve, so you might have better luck getting reservations. As far as the excursions go, the Atlantis one if fun, but is kind of long with lots of walking. I think you could probably do it on your own, like someone else suggested and still have fun, and it would probably take less time. They give you a tour and then you go through the aquarium and then they drop you off by the shops and casino.

My biggest suggestion, would be to relax and have fun and enjoy the peace and quiet, while you can!

Congrats!

I don't recommend the shore excursion for Atlantis. My husband and I went on a cruise to the Bahamas eariler this year. We got into port around 10 PM so we got of the ship and took a taxi ($4 per person) to Atlantis and walked through the acquairium (which is free at night). The next day we paid $150 to do the same thing that we did the night before for $16. We were more than a little disappointed.

I do recommend wearing Disney ears though. We had our honeymoon in WDW 4 yrs. ago and wore them the whole time. It was a lot of fun.

Have a Happy Honeymoon!

Thanks for all the great advice everyone! It has been very helpful and I am so excited about our cruise. I do have one other questions, does anyone know if anything special goes on since it will be Halloween? I believe it will be the day we go to Castaway Cay. Any thoughs or experiences on this? Thanks again.

Halloween 2006 on the Wonder had costume contests of various categories and a costume party on the deck. There was trick or treating for the kids as well. Wish I had pictures of all the decorations they had for the Atrium... it looked prety sweet. :D

Gratz on the marriage and little one on the way!

My wife and I went on a 3-night Disney cruise for our honeymoon. Some tips:

1.) MOST IMPORTANT! If, when you were booking, you didn't make it clear that this will be your honeymoon, make sure DCL knows ASAP. Like, tonight! If that means calling and ordering a hokey amenity or something, do it! I won't tell you what happened to us, because I don't want you to get your hopes up and then be disappointed. BUT, I will say that DCL puts honeymooners near the top of their "make this trip extra special" list. If you can get on that list before you get on the boat, magical things can happen.

2.) If you're really bummed about Palo, get to the terminal early. They board the ship "Southwest style", meaning that when you check in, they give you a boarding number. Last cruise, we got there about noon, and we got on with group #5. Not sure how early you can get in the terminal, but that's something you can check on. You want to get on the boat early so that you can go straight to the place where you can book Palo. As was previously mentioned, they reserve some bookings just for people who don't book until they get on the ship.

Also, check back online every once in a while. Last cruise, we booked 2 weeks before sailing, and Palo was booked solid. I checked a couple of nights later, and viola, a booking had opened up.

Palo is SOOOOO worth the $20 and extra effort.

3.) About the Atlantis excursion: we did this one on our honeymoon. When we did it, they put you on a boat that takes you to paradise island, and then you have to walk a good ways to get to Atlantis. I mean, it was a good hike. I was so excited, I don't remember exactly how long it was, but I think it was probably close to 2 miles. And you have to cross a lot of traffic. Next time we go to Atlantis, we will simply take a cab to and from. Believe me, there is NO problem finding a cab at the port or at Atlantis.

Wow. I think this may be my longest I-cot post yet.

Anyhoo, Gratz again, and have a blast!!!

Slater!

Thanks for the post Ferry, I don't know what I am most excited about getting married or the Disney Cruise (Disney Cruise I think). I am pretty sure Disney knows it is our honeymoon because everytime I call (often) they say, "oh, it's your honeymoon....and your pregnant." Hahaha. I will be sure to take lots of pics and hopefully figure out to post when I return. Thanks! 37 days and counting.
