Sept. 13, 1999 – Members of Disney’s stage show “The Lion King” performed “Can You Feel the Love Tonight” on ABC’S Good Morning America.
Sept. 13, 1999 – Disney’s “Time Square Studios” opened at 1500 Broadway in N.Y.C.
Sept. 13, 2001 – WDW entered what they call “Level 5 Hurricane Preparedness” the lowest level of warning as tropical storm Gabriel threatened Florida.
Sept. 13, 2001 – WDW’S New Year’s Eve Celebration held nightly at Pleasure Island was cancelled out of respect for the victims of the 9/11 terrorists attacks.
Sept. 13, 2001 – Actress Dorothy McGuire, known for her roles in many Disney films, died at the age of 85 in Los Angeles.
Sept. 13, 2002 – The Lizzie McGuire episode “Movin’ On Up” aired on the Disney Channel.
Sept. 13, 2004 – The attraction “The Magic of Disney Animation,” at Disney-MGM Studios closed for rehab. (Closed through Oct. 17, 2004)
Sept. 13, 2004 – The Disney attraction “The Magic Carpets of Aladdin” in Adventureland at the Magic Kingdom closed for rehab. (re-opened Oct. 16, 2004)
Sept. 13, 2004 – Disney’s syndicated talk show “The Tony Danza Show” began airing.
Sept. 13, 2005 – “Pooh’s Heffalump Halloween” (an all-new original movie) was released to DVD and VHS.
