Will the CM's let you ride if your return time on your fast pass has passed? Say if my return time for EE was 11:30, but I did not get back until 12:30, would they let me ride?

Yes, the CM's will let you enter the fast pass line with same day expired tickets.

You even used to be able to come back a couple of days later and use it. But we were told this week that they wouldn't accept it.

I think it depends on the CM but you should be able to :mickey:

Traditionally, the CM's will honor a same day Fast pass if you arrive within a reasonable time after the experation printed on the ticket, however, they have been getting more strict on the enforcement of this. Changes are comming for the Fast pass system which will require the CM's to scan the Fast passes before allowing guests to enter. When this takes effect, I'm not sure if an expired pass will be allowed....

Yes - I have gotten a FP for Soarin with a return time of 1:00. Instead of using it, I held onto it until I could get another FP for Soarin. Then I went on the ride with the first FP at the 2nd FPs time and then went on right away again with the 2nd FP.

I was by myself. Hubby was at a conference. :mickey:

Other times, we have gotten FPs and then decided we wanted to eat or see a show or something and just didn't make it back until later.

We have found that we have been able, but we really try to be there at our window to make the FP system actually work. It defeats the purpose if everyone starts to come back at random times. They were very lenient at Disneyland, and we found that some of the FP waits were traditionally longer than those at WDW.

I wouldn't plan on coming after your window expires, but if something happens, then I believe that would be ok.

We were actually able to use our Fastpass before the time for it. We got back to the ride about 10 minutes early and didn't want to just stand around, so we asked the CM if we could go on in and they said "Sure!" I'm glad I read this thread because we have thrown FPs away because they were past the time and we didn't know we could still use them.

I've never had trouble using a FP after its time. The only one I've heard people not being able to use expired FPs on was Soarin'.

I'm not sure how the new FPs affect the return times... has anyone had recent experience with this?

We have used expired FP this yr. Prior yrs we just threw them away but, after reading the boards & people saying they would honor them then we used them. We tried not to let them expire but, we did once or twice. That being due to a 2/3 hr wait time so, we'd go to another side of the park and time would get away from us. Like when we were on a ride that broke down and we had to wait to be escorted off the ride.(Primeval Whirl on the top in a turn) Yep back in June.

I did get to use a couple of FPs after the time this trip, but the CMs, though they were not rude, definitely gave the impression they were doing me a favour. It seems they ARE tightening up.

Usually, the CMs will honor them, but I agree with other people: try to make it to your window. It just makes it easier for everyone involved.

We were told by a CM that we could do that which really came in handy at MGM when we were at the stunt show and our window for RnRC came up. We got there about 45 minutes late but they still honored it without a problem. We were not able to use them early though. I saw a few people that tried to do this but they were stopped.

I've also heard a lot of recent reports about this practice no longer happening. The author of UG posted in his blog that they were turned away on recent visits. So... I would (and always have) make every effort to get there within your time frame, or you'll quite possibly be out of luck. As others have pointed out, the system becomes less efficient when the window isn't enforced anyway.

The only time we were able to use the FP after our window expired was when SM was down and they told us when it was up and running again we could come back and they would honor it.

To be honest, it rather rude to do that. The Fastpasses are designed to allow a flow of people through the ride. If I have a fastpass from 2-3 PM and somebody who had a Fastpass from 12:30-1:30 PM comes into the line. That just adds more wait to my experience. Imagine if everybody started to do this? One might as well just stand in the stand-by line. Be respectful of other guests and follow the times printed on your pass.

Ok....did not mean to step on any toes. OG states that you can do this, and I wanted clarification. I was just worried that if I was on the other side of the park, or in a show, I would loose out on the fast pass. I was not planning on just returning when I felt like it. Come on guys, I'm a Disney vetern too!

Leaving aside the debate that it is right or wrong (there are many places to argue about that), yes you can.

I am guessing the times people were turned away was during busier times or otherwise high capacity rides during high capacity times.

I just got home yesterday, and this past week we saw a guy turned away at EE for being there...wait for it...one minute early. Yes, they turned him around and made him wait. But it was right as the ride was opening, really, and it was very very busy. So I think that explained their strictness.

They seem to be quite strict at Soarn'. There always seems to be people around waiting for their time to come up (and the CMs are telling them no). Haven't seen that anywhere else except when a stand-by line is very long.

Last trip, I had a Fastpass for EE and was in line when it was closed because of lightning. The CMs told everyone they could use their Fastpass the next day. Unfortunatly, I didn't make back to AK before I went home. :(

I think it depends on the CM but you should be able to :mickey:
Agreed, We have many times went over the time limit...NEVER denied. If the fast pass is still the same day..Id almost bet my house that the C.M. would honor it.
