I was just wondering what people think the coolest ride is when it breaks down.:balloon: Try to say something besides Space Mountain. Thanks for your opinion! By the way, I am leaving for Disney tomorrow at 4 p.m.! :)

We've been on POTC several times when our boat comes to a stop. I just sit there and try to take it all in! I look carefully at the scenes and appreciate the fact that I'm not floating right by...

That's happened once or twice on Splash Mountain, too.

My last trip it seemed most rides I went on broke down it was neat for a few of them. I think my favorite and probably scariest was Tower of Terror however probably more scary for my friend who has never been on TOT before. We where at the part where the elevator starts to go up. When the doors open you see the scene where the window flys at you. After that the doors closed and we where stuck in the pitch black for five minutes. My friend thought it was part of the ride and we where like no you aren't supposed to sit here like this. So then she got kinda scared since she was stuck in an elevator that was supposed to drop. After sitting in the dark for a few minutes the lights on the elevator came on and we got to look at the elevator shaft which is intresting to see in the dark. Supprisingly you dont go that high from entering to the first scene it looks alot higher so they finally lower us back down and then we where stuck in our seats. It was pretting intresting and I don't think I'll forget it.

Haunted Mansion. You can ride that over and over, and see something you've never noticed before.

This has never happened to me! I would love to be on POTC or Haunted Mansion if it did, though!

The HM is probably my favorite ride to break down on. I've actually been stuck on it 3 different times. One time was for almost 10 minutes. The best time was when I was stuck in the dining room scene. There was a lot to see and I got to point out the "hidden mickey' plates to the people in the doom buggies on either side of us. :mickey:
Buzz Lightyear offers you a lot to look at too.

My brother in law was on TT one time and the ride shut down when he was towards the end of the ride when it is accelerating and the car was on a banked turn. He was stuck there for quite a while. Sort of cool from what he said. :mickey:

That was exactly what I was going to say! The only time I've beaten DBf was when the ride stopped! I also love SE and HM because there is so much to take in.

We were on HM last year when the ride stopped in the graveyard scene and the lights came on for about 3-4 minutes. Really cool!

Only been on a broken ride once......primeval whirl....we were on top and had to come down the cat walk....that was fun, except my DS left his hat and sunglasses in the net bag. They couldn't get them for us and we had to go to guest relations / lost and found....we got the hat back about a month later... I would love to get stuck on SM on top with the view of the castle at night, just before the fireworks.....that would be cool

My Husband was stuck with his cousins and Grandparents on POC when he was a pretty little kid (about 4). This means that his two grandparents were on POC with 4 children under the age of 8. When they got stuck, they were all fine for a while, but after about 1/2 hour or so (It may not have been that long... I pointed out to him may have just SEEMED that long.) his older cousin lost it and then began to cry hysterically. The the others followed suit. None of them can ride it with out praying they don't get stuck hearing "Yo ho Yo ho a pirates life for me" over and over and over...

Luckily, I have never been stuck on a ride. I did see the insides of Space Mountain. We almost got caught on snow white at DL, but was able to hop off. Thank god.

Daughter and I were on Test Track. It broke down at the point where you speed up to test the ABS braking system. The sound effects worked but, we were only inching alone. We laught so hard because it sounded like we were squeeling our tires.

:secret: Ok, I'm not thinking I like this thread. Geeze, some of these things are freaking me out. I was stuck on the HM a couple times and that was no big deal. I was stuck on the "People Mover" (I still call it that) and that wasn't so bad, just a little tiresome after a while when I basically could have crawled out and walked, but they wouldn't let us. Once stuck on the COP, again, no big deal. I'm thinking I would have totally freaked out if I had the experience of breaking down on TOT. I'm leaving in 7 days for my Disney trip, so I'm not going to read anymore of these. :stop:

We got stuck on Dinosaur for what seemed like an eternity, probably only 10 minutes. At first it was really cool, the sound effects were still on, then it got a little creepy.
7 more days till we are off to the world !!

DEFINATELY Buzz Lightyear - we stalled in a room that has one of the 100,000 point targets. I was a GALCTIC HERO in NO time!!!

Well, I had another thought about getting stuck on a ride. Probably the WORST to get stuck on is "Small World". I know of at least two times that we were stuck trying to get off that ride with that song blaring in our ears. We were only about 3 or 4 boats from unloading, but man were we ever glad to get off of that ride.

Don't get me wrong, I like IaSW, but I can only take it about once a trip, no matter how short the line is. LOL!

After about 8 exhausting hours at EPCOT we decided to take a load off and hit SE. I had my head back, just relaxing and listening to the narrative. Just when we reached the top, as you begin to turn backwards for the trip back, the ride stopped. I was thrilled!! I was relaxing on one of my favorite rides, looking up at the moon and stars. We were there for almost 20 minutes. Honestly, I could have stayed there for a few hours!

Here's one that hasn't been mentioned yet...Expedition Everest. This is a crazy story. We were at AK the February prior to the April grand opening of EE. EE was in "soft opening" mode, so sometimes it was running and sometimes it wasn't. They were still testing things and all. We happened to get lucky and catch a time when they were letting guests ride it. Anyhow, our group must have been the guinea pigs for testing the emergency exit. We were up at the top right before the track flips and you go down the big drop. The sound effects and the shadow of the Yeti came and went, but we noticed that the track hadn't flipped back yet so that we could go downhill. Then the sound effects stopped and lights came on. Then a voice from above told us to remain seated. Then a little while after that, 2 cast members came to our train and told us that we were going to have to go down the emergency exit. We were also told that we were not allowed to take any pictures!! So, car by car, we all exited from the track and we went out the secret door. We walked down something like 16 flights of stairs and were litterally inside the mountain!! It was so cool. I'm sure that was a once in a lifetime opportunity for me!

I've been stuck on several rides and I think how good a place to be stuck is mostly who you are with/near at the time...
SE where it goes backwards, very happy to relax against the back of the car and hold my husband's hand.
POTC, right by the skeleton at the wheel. Not the most interesting place to get caught but not bad except for the obnoxious boys trying to jump out of the boat ahead of us.
Test Track, near the exit...but not near enough to deboard. Not fun. The little girl in the car with us had a meltdown. I felt so bad for her and her father who desperately made attempts to redirect her from her rage/fear/boredom.

I was on POTC when it broke down once. (This was back in the 80's on a family vacation with my parents) The CM actually had to evacuate the whole ride and we were taken "backstage". It looked like a junk yard with boats everywhere. Of course my dad was taking pics & a CM came over & told him he couldn't . We still have them somewhere @ my parents house. I know we'd gotten stuck on SE several times and World of Motion too. Those were fun to sit and watch.

Last visit we were stuck on Test Track when they tested the anti lock brakes :car: were stuck on Malestorm at the top of the lift :boat: in Nemo and Friends in the bubble tunnel "go with the flow" :dory: which was neat for the first few minutes - but the script repeated and repeated and repeated and to this day it is stuck in my brain. Best incident last trip was when we were stuck at the very end in the Tower of Terror - when they show the final movie - the elevator would not turn - so the turned the lights on - :paranoid: the cast member had to get us out a different exit - we got to walk backstage (neat to see) and they brought us right back into the loading area and let us get on - it rocked.

Got stuck on TOT. They had to bring us beind the scenes into the service area where they keep the extra cars not in use at that time. It was cool to see the behind the scenes action you would normally never get to see.

I was on TT last year when it E-stopped. We were on the hilly portion for about 40 minutes, when the lights came up, and a CM escorted each car to the exit. They were very **** about making sure none of walked on the track portion. We had to stay on the "shoulder."

I was in heaven knowing I was walking down one of the original stairwells of World of Motion.

Ditto ! Once we were stopped in the room, but DH & our oldest were already in the tunnel. Our score definately beat them that time.

I was on Horizons when it stopped in the middle of the omnisphere theatre which was in my opinion the best part of the ride. You feel like you are flying in their. I believe this was a predessesor to Soarin in it's technology. It was fantastic, we were bummed when the ride started back up.

Two trips ago we got stuck on Splash Mountain for what seemed like forever. It was in actuality about 20-25 minutes. My sister and I were in a boat together and my DBf was in his own boat a few boats behind us. We got stuck outside in the mountain area, and was it ever HOT! :flame:The sun was beating down on us and we were sweltering! What made it worse was that there was water pouring out of a hole in the side of the mountain just ahead of our boat and just barely out of our reach! We would have gladly stuck our heads under there for a good soaking. Poor DBf was stuck inside the scene where Brer Bear is stuck in a hole in a tree, and his big ol' butt was bobbing in and out the whole time while "Zip A Dee Doo Da" played over and over. I don't think he got that song out of his head the whole rest of the trip!

You should go on it with me sometime, EVERY time I ride HM it stops. Ever since my grad night nine years ago I haven’t been able to ride the ride without it stopping. I think I’ve been in every single room of that house! I’m hoping the curse breaks after the refirb.

I think my favorite and my least favorite is Spaceship Earth. Once I got stuck where you just turn backwards and look at the stars. It was nice, peaceful and relaxing. Another time I got stuck in the Rome burning scene. Now I have to hold my breath when I go passed that scene because I can’t stand the smell.
