Aug. 26, 1918 – A young Walt Disney forged his parents signatures and enlisted into the “American Ambulance Corps.” (part of the Red Cross). He changed his birth year from 1901 to 1900.

Aug. 26, 2005 – Fred Joerger, a master model maker who helped create Disneyland’s look by molding “Sleeping Beauty Castle” and other attractions in miniature, passed away at age 91. (Walt Disney handpicked Joerger in 1053 to become one of his first three model makers.)
