I actually like the set up of the food court at POFQ better than at CBR. They have a lot of the same foods, pizza, hamburgers, and breakfast foods are the same, but there are a few items that are geared toward the resort theming. Try the bignets they are wonderful The food court is an open eating area inside that has some tables outside that we love to sit at and eat. To get to the pool from here you just walk across the street and a short walk way to the pool area. It is in the middle of the resort but because this resort is so small it is close to most buildings. We have always stayed in building 5-standard view. It overlooks the courtyard and fountain. It is quiet but close to everything. The other side is the pool view. The pool has a dragon slide-the tongue is the actual slide. The boat dock to DD is on the other side of the pool. There is a walk way that goes along the lake that you can take to get to POR. The hot tub is separate from the pool and is hidden by some trees. We have only used it once during the 3 times we have stayed at POFQ. Arcade is you typical arcade. My son will go and play while he waits for us or if we have some down time at the hotel. We love this resort and will be there in 3 more weeks.

I also have a question about the pool at POFQ...

Anyone know how deep the water is at the end of the slide in Doubloon Lagoon?

My 7 year old DS is very excited about staying here because of the slide at this pool, but I'm worried about how deep the water is. He's not a very skilled swimmer. He is 4 feet tall.

I think the pool is only 4'6" deep. I can't remember any part of it being over my head. the dragon slide is really cool. My DD's made me go down it with them when they were very young. That part of the pool is not as deep as the rest since many small children use the slide. it may be 3'6' deep. This is about the shallowest part of any public pool that can be built nowadays, especially with a slide.

I have seen many children wearing PFD's or lifejackets to ride the slide. Something for you to consider. I don't know if you can rent them there or not. We never needed them. There is also a small wading pool and splash pad area as you enter the pool area.

The hot tub is not that large. It will hold maybe six to eight people. It is not near the pool, but off between the food court and the laundry. Walk down the roadway to the pool and turn left at the aligator band.

Oh yeah! Don't forget to try the beignets!:cloud9:

The depth of the pool ranges from 3' 3" to 4' 8". Near the slide, it is 3' 3" to 3' 6". There are lifevests provide for the use of little ones who are not strong swimmers. The hot tub is a separate area from the pool - it's located on the other side of the laundry building and is relatively secluded, being surrounded by large foliage and fences. The food court is not as large as the one at CBR. The grab 'n go selections are lacking in comparison but the hot food selection is great.

You're right, the kids absolutely HATED disney - NOT! :mickey:

Wish we were back there right now.

We absolutely loved POFQ and now consider it our second "home". Even after staying at the GF and BWI (and being upgraded to concierge at no cost!), we prefer the French Quarter.
