I was just checking in to say hi to all fellow Pittsburghers! I've seen a few of you who are located in Pittsburgh from here.

We lived in Bethel Park from '82 to '94... Mica Ct (Dashwood) and then Grouse Run (Boxer Heights).

Even though I'm from the South (GA LA and TX), I lived in PA long enough that I still say "you guys" more than "y'all"... but I never picked up on the "you'uns".

Cool thread!
I was born in North Hills, my mom is from Penn Hills, my dad from Woodland Hills and my grandparents are from the Burgh too. I went to Duquesne my freshman year of college too!
GO STEELERS!

I lived in McKees Rocks the first 6 years of my life. My dad grew up in Clairton and my mom grew up in Dormont. My aunt and uncle still live in Bethel Park. I've been back to visit many times since then and there are certain things I make sure I do when I'm there.

1. Buy some Mancini's bread. (Although I've heard that the place changed hands and burned down.)

2. Order some homemade pierogis. Yummy!

3. Go to Kennywood!!!

4. Go to the downtown Kaufman's and take my son to Santa's Lane. (I know that Kaufman's is now Macy's, but I've heard that they still do Santa's Lane [is that what it's called?] at Christmastime.) I remember shopping for my parents at Santa's Lane when I was very small.

I'm about one hour East of the Burgh. Needless to say I'm a Steeler - Pirate - Penguin nut  Maybe we should think of a Burgh INTERCOT meet in the future. By the way Welcome aboard I'm sure you'll love the site.:thumbsup:
