:mickey:We were thinking of leaving Epcot thru the international gateway and getting dinner at one of the nearby resorts, then going back to catch illuminations. What is the realistic walking time/distance and which resturants are closest for good table service?

Yatchsman Steakhouse in the Beach Club resort, is fantastic and only a 10 min walk. We have dined here twice and have never been disappointed.

On the Boardwalk is also Big River Grill, Spoodles and Flying Fish Cafe. All are under a 10 minute walk from EPCOT. I've been to Big River Grill a number of times and it is nice and casual. You have to call the restaurant directly to make dining reservations (can't do it through the normal disney dining reservation number).

Question - we've got ressies @ Cape May in September - is it easier to take bus from resort to Epcot & then walk there or take bus to DTD & then to the resort where Cape May is? Thanks for the help!! :mickey:

I would take the bus from your resort to EPCOT and then walk from there to your dinner. It is probably a 10-15 minute walk. I assume you have park-hopper passes or will be visiting EPCOT that day as you will obviously need your passes to get into EPCOT and then walk through it to the back exit to get to the restaurant. The other option of going to DTD and then a second bus to the resort will cut down on the walking, but waiting for 2 different buses will probably take longer.

For the OP:
Cape May = 5 minutes
Yachtsman's Steakhouse = 7 minutes
B&C = 5 minutes
Yacht Club Galley = 7 minutes
ESPN = 7 minutes
Spoodles = 8 minutes
FF = 8 minutes
Big River = 9 minutes
Swan/Dolphin Restaurants = 10-12 minutes

Where are you staying? Do you have a Park Hopper?
If you head to EPCOT, you'll have to enter EPCOT in the front, walk through FW, enter WS, head towards the UK, go through the International Gateway to the Beach Club. This is a pretty time consuming ordeal. Not to mention you'll have to enter a park.

If your connections are good - meaning you're lucky - it is most likely quicker (but not as fun! ;)) to take the bus to DTD and then to the BC.

Of course, it all depends - where are you staying?

You could take a bus to the Disney Studios and from there take the boat to the Boardwalk. It would be less traveling (and walking) then the other two options.

Realistically, plan for 15 - 20 minutes walk time back. The International Gateway gets a little backed up before Illuminations, especially on the weekend.
