Very EXCITED!!!

I just wanted to let all of my intercot friends know the good news. My husband has just adopted my six year old daughter. He isn't her real dad but he acts like it. He's been in her life since she was 8 months old. Her real father just signed his rights over. He never cared to be in her life anyway. We are really excited. Tonight we had a little party at a local restaurant for them. There were 53 people there to help us celebrate. I am sooo grateful for him. We also have a 4 year old son together. When people ask him how many children he has he always replies "two". I've always told him anyone can be a father but it takes someone really special to be a daddy. :party: I'm so glad that I have all of you to share our family's wonderful news.

How wonderful! I remember having a friend whose step dad officially adopted her at the age of 12 and she was absolutely ecstatic to finally have a daddy.

Congratulations.:thumbsup: My uncle also adopted his step daughter when she was younger. She was 3 when he starting dating her mom...and really the only father she has ever known. It took a while but they finally got the biological father to sign off on his rights. It was the best thing that probably happend to her...her real father was no prize and was not in contact much. She has been part of our family for so long...no one really remembers she is adopted in....she is 20 yrs old now and has now a younger sister and brother.
