We are a large family and have stayed at most of the DVC resorts, Old Key West being our favorite. We have never stayed at Wilderness Lodge, but have heard so many great stories. My question is, how long is the boat ride over to Contemporary? Second question, are the two bedrooms on the larger size like Old Key West, or more like Boardwalk?

The ride, once you get on a boat, is about 10-15 minutes. It's pleasant and doesn't feel very long at all.

There is also a direct bus to the MK which is quicker (if time is a concern).

The villas that you'll stay in at the WL are the same size as the BW. OKW is unique in that it offers the largest accomodations out of all the DVC resorts. The rest of the DVC resorts (excluding some AKLV) are all the same size.

VWL are incredibly themed. The entire resort is something to behold. We love all the DVC resorts and don't mind staying in any of them!

We LOVE the Wildnerness Lodge. If you've never stayed there before, definitely do it at least once. You won't be disappointed. Not only is it beautiful, but very easy transportation to/from the Contemporary and Magic Kingdom. We love the boat rides, and the bus drop off is in a great, easily accessible location.

I agree with the PPs. WL is great!
