Hey everyone,

Well, I have finished my training for the first show i'll be working on; "Play n' Dine" at the Hollywood & Vine Restaurant at the Studios.

Traditions was interesting, especially since I had to reschedule. They sent me home the first time because my hair was a tad too long, so it was starting to cover the tips of my ears. Whoops. Not the best way to start at Disney

If any of you are visiting the Studios on your trip, look me up and say "Hey!" Play n' Dine runs for breakfast and lunch at the Hollywood & Vine. I'll be the guy with the grey stage technician polo shirt on and "Nick" on my nametag.

Have a great day!

~Nick

enjoy your new job and KEEP the hair cut.!
I can't beleive they sent you home and made you reschedule instead of telling you to get it cut that night!.
They are even stricter than my son's schools

Just posting some info here ;)

Nick, congrats and welcome to the "family" of CMs

It's called "the Disney Look" and it's required. In fact, I probably need to get *my* hair cut before I get back to work over there...LOL

Traditions is just that: new CMs learn the "Disney point", and all that jazz; the Disney tradition of great Cast Members. If you show up with tennis shoes, you get sent home. It's supposed to be a "business casual" atmosphere.

Jim,

Oh yes, I knew what the Disney Look is before hand, and I was dressed "by the book" but, I didn't even realise that my hair was in violation, because it was just barely covering the tips of my ears. I looked in the mirror, and was like...that's it ?!?! hehe.

Traditions was interesting, though I liked my orientation day much better. I've been working for 2 weeks now. Wow...time sure does fly here at WDW.
