SO, this is FINALLY my 1000th post !!!!
:joy::yay::woohoo::clappy::):D

We've all seen characters and alot of us have stood in lines waiting for characters or went to character dining.

My question is-What character gave you the best experience? What is the one that stands out in your mind that made either you or somebody in your party smile.

Mine is quite simple. I was in Epcot and for some reason I was rushing somewhere. I think I had gotten seperated from my BF (standing in line for a snack or something). As I was trying to find him, I came across Princess Aroura (Sleeping Beauty) and I passed her. She looked at me and said "Good Afternoon Princess".....to me. I mean, it's not like I'm a kid and yet, she still made me feel like a princess. :princess:

Donald Duck is always a little feisty with my kids. When my DD was 8, he kept taking her hat. That was the best. We love running into Donald. But Chip and Dale are great, too.

To be honest I have several: Snow White calling my son Prince Hayden, Honest John signing his autograph personally to my son, Alladin giving my wife and myself rabbit ears that we didn't notice until we got our photopass. But the best by far was at the Character Connection at Epcot. My 18 month old son is in a wheelcair and is very sick, so they sent us around another entrance. Pluto in the middle came available first so they sent us to him and while I was holding Hayden for pictures out of the corner of my eye I see Chip and Dale coming over from the booth next door, then Mickey and Minnie also came over. We were surrounded by charcters all who were loving and kissing my son. They passed our autograph paper around, the photographers took my wife's video camera, and our regular camera and shooed her over to us in the middle of the fray and they started taping and snapping pictures everywhere it was really magical and something I will never ever forget.

A few experiences come to mind -

While I was waiting in Town Square for friends one day, King Louie was stood on other side of the 'road' from me - he kept waving, I'd wave back, then he'd wave and joke around trying to get attention from other guests, but I guess people didn't 'see' him. Louie would keep acting sad and then would start all over again when more guests would go by. After about five minutes, he walked over and gave me a hug.

At a MVMCP, it was very empty in Adventureland towards the end of the night. One of the country bears, Brer Fox, and a couple of Cast Member escorts were near the squirting tikis, and were chatting with another family. Brer Fox was playing around with the 2 kids from the family, so I asked if I could take a pic of the Country Bear. He posed, then he took my hand and walked me over to one of the cast member escorts and gave my camera to them so I could be in the picture too. He pointed to tiki room to see if I was going in to the show - I told him I had just been in there and was going back to Pirates. Again, he took my hand and he walked with me all the way to Pirates - its was hilarious...

Another time, I was at Epcot's character connection, and, again, was getting late in the day. Not many guests were around, so the characters could interact with guests a bit more. Chip 'n' Dale were being rather mischievous that night, and took it in turns taking my (digital) camera and taking random pictures of me, themselves, and other characters.

Quite often, I wait in line (with everyone else) when wanting to meet a character. Usually, I don't want to be in the picture - I just want a picture of those characters. I ask the character if I can take a pic of them and just about every character I've asked has posed! Definitely makes the scrapbooking process easy!

I just wanted to say that this is just another example of what sets Disney apart from any place else. Thank you for sharing this story - it brought tears of happiness to my eyes!:mickey:
My experience was with the characters at The Liberty Tree Tavern. My husband and I felt kind of out of place at a character dinner without children. BUT all of the characters interacted with us and posed for some hilarious photos. It was great!

Meeko at the Character Breakfast @ Wilderness Lodge.

I'm not a morning person, so he came and stole my strawberry.
Then his tail hit the punch bowl, which fell to the floor and shattered.

Quite funny.

My best character incounter was with my fav Goofey. We went into inoventions to get our free pic taken with our visa card holder and he took me by the arm looked at my hubby and would not let me go. I got the biggest kick out of that, I just loved it. He acted like he was going to walk out with me. :mickey:

Mentioned this in another thread but...

A Storm Trooper wouldn't stop for my sister to get a picture back when we went on one of our trips in the 90s.

She was only 11 years old I think.

Anyway, she yelled at the Storm Trooper, "Hey look! We came ALL THE WAY from Winnipeg, Canada and the LEAST you could do is get your picture taken with me!"

The Storm Trooper stopped, posed, she got her picture and then it just kept walking away.

The look on her face is PRICELESS though - she was sooo happy.

Ah, my sister, the Storm Trooper slayer! :thedolls::cool:

Chip and Dale!!!!!:dale::chip:

On our last trip to the World, my DH was begging me not to make reservations at any character meals. Well, I love the character meals and so I couldn't resist! I made reservations for the Garden Grill. Chip and Dale were awesome-they came by our table several times and they were soooo funny. Chip kept bringing out this little toy to play with and they made our dining experience very enjoyable. My DH had a great time and still talks about how funny Chip and Dale were.

Chip 'n' Dale:chipdale:

Chip & Dale are one of my favorite characters and everytime they are around my boyfriend and I just cant stop laughing. On our last trip to WDW in July Chip 'n' Dale were possing for pictures so we stood in line. When it was our turn to have our picture taken Chip came over to me and walked me over to where Dale was and he gave me a big hug. Then he looks at my hand and looks at my boyfriend, he starts pointing at my finger and shrugging his shoulders many times and my boyfriend didnt know what to respond back his face was getting so red(this was Chip's way of asking where is my ring). My boyfriend was like "Oh Chip not yet maybe sometime soon", so Chip got on one knee and proposed to me. That is such a great memory and great picture too:cloud9:

Mine was with Stitch! My sister and I were waiting in line to meet him (actually I was waiting to meet him, my sister was with me to take pictures!).. as soon as it was my turn Stitch grabbed my hands and started dancing with me. We dipped me several times and spun me around. I heard a little girl in the line say "Stitch really really likes her". Stitch then posed for pictures with me.. then got down on his knee and proposed to me!!! It's the greatest memory I have of my time in Disney! Chip and Dale are also quite fun! When we met them at Epcot they both started dancing with us! Chip can really bust a move!

Mine was with Sorcerer Mickey at MGM. It was the meet and greet that used to be next to Millionaire. It was just DH and I, but as I walked up he pointed to my pal mickey and then to himself. I said, yea, that's you. Then he squeezed my hand after the picture and gave me a hug. I teared up because I think that person knew what it meant to me to be there. It was so sweet and a really good connection.

One time Goofy gave me a smacker kiss right on top of the head in the AK, my dad got that one on video tape!

I gotta few too!
Tigger at 1900 Park Fare took my moms bag and started swinging it around on his finger then made her get up and dance with him! It is one of my favorite pictures, she is 100 shades of red!

Another was at LTT last Halloween, my dad called me from Indiana and was checking on me and mom and Goofy came up and asked for my phone and was pretending to talk to my dad! I loved that he got to really hear how amazing WDW is without being there.

Haha some of you have heard about my awful angsty goth trip in 03 when I was 16 I was in full Goth-muffin mode. Bless moma's heart for not choking me. But I digress, I had been so "embarassed" to have my pictures taken with Pooh and Tigger, etc. So she had nearly given up when Jaffar snuck up on me around the carpets in MK and scarred the heck outta me! Its still one of the only good pictures of me from that trip. I've now grown up abit and will hug critters with the best of them!:number1:

Oh I have a good one.....late one night at the MVMCP over by the flying carpets, the park was almost emptied out. The Country Bears and Brer Bear were riding the Carpets with people. My four year old sat with Brear Bear and my wife with Big Al. They were very playful.
My other one involved my oldest son meeting Gaston he was awesome with him and even gave him a Gaston action figure very cool!

Our dd had some great times with Goofy. She gets so excited that she begins to dance and he imitated her, then he started to dance with her at Animal Kingdom. He started to bother Mickey Mouse pulling at his scarf. He would do everything she would. It was cute. Stitch also is cool to interact with. Two years ago at Ohannas he totally wrecked dd hair. She has hair down to her butt and I usually put it in a pony tail. He was twirling her hair around her head and tossing it around, I thought for sure she was going to be one big matte head. Needless to say she did not like him very much that trip and would run when she saw him. Last year at Ohannas he brought her a Lai to put around her neck and a cupcake for desert. And he did not touch her hair. We will see in November if he is Stitch or 626. (Now she likes him). In MGM Tigger kept petting her hair and signed in her autograph book, You have beautiful red hair!

I can think of a few too.

1. In LTT, I encouraged my son and friend to meow at Pluto. He went nuts! It was fun to watch.

2. In Epcot at the character connection, my 4 year old and I skipped the fireworks and had the characters to ourselves. Pluto, Minnie, Mickey, Chip, Dale and if I remember right, Pluto all played with him for the longest time. He had a blast!

3. With Aladdin and Jafar in Epcot, my Autistic son finally had a conversation where he introduced us to the characters - it was very moving.

I could go on and on. Meeting the characters is one of the best things about Disney.

All of the characters were phenomenal.

My favorite was seeing my daughters' reactions to Jasmine and Aladdin. By the time we saw them, we had already done at least two meals and had stood in many lines, so the whole character thing wasn't new.

My DD5, who is NEVER quiet, was so overwhelmed meeting them that she was silent. She had this look on her face like Marsha Brady when Marsha met Davy Jones (God I hope someone reading this is old enough to know what I'm talking about!!!)

We got gorgeous pictures - the girls were just entranced.

I soooooo need to plan another trip!

Four immediately came to mind:
1) Our first trip, Dec. 2004, my daughter was chosen as Chef of the Day at the Crystal Palace. Pooh, Eeyore, Tigger, and Piglet spent over 15 minutes with just the three of us. The characters helped her decorate a brownie, signed her autograph book, and posed for many pictures.

2) Oct. 2005: My husband, daughter, and I dressed as the Incredibles for MNSSHP. A Cast Member chose us to ride in the special party parade. My husband, who was dressed as Syndrome, got so much attention from the characters. I had given our camara to friends to take pics as we came by. But oh how I wish I had my camara, as we were in the staging area, the headless horseman came and stood right by us; my daughter was mesmerized and slightly terrified.

3) Same year at MNSSHP we had our picture taken with Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. This is my most precious Disney photo to date.

4) Same visit, at the Crystal Palace, I stood to have my picture with Eeyore. I noticed he was holding on a little longer than most characters do and then he started to lean back. I thought "Eeyore is going down; he is passing out." I began motioning to my husband because I thought he was taking me down with him. Then just as I was about to say something, Eeyore stood straight up and put his hand to his mouth and began to, silently of course, laugh. I turned every shade of red and kept saying "I thought you were going to pass out". He stayed for several more minutes re-inacting the moment. My daughter, three years later, continues to tell the story when Eeyore almost passed out on mommy.

Now that is awesome. I have always said that the Headless Horseman would be the ultimate Rare Disney Meet and Greet for me. I wonder if you had had a penif he could have seen to autograph your book ;)

Thats so funny because Goofy did the same thing to the Mrs. and I. We were by the sorceror's hat, beginning of August and just dying of the heat while taking these pics. Goofy stood in between us, put his arms across our shoulders, and just planted himself. It was hilarious. Even better because the CM taking pictures took multiple photos in a row so we have the entire sequence!
Same trip, the Mrs. and I were getting our photo taken with Donald and the crazy duck basically nudged me out of the way with his rear end and stole my wife! Gotta love the characters!

1.) At Chef Mickey's, when Minnie came to our table she was greeting all of us the way she does everyone else. My friend thought he was a little old for the characters (he was 14 at the time) and didn't really care about Minnie coming up. But then she came up to my friend and curtsied. He bowed. It was so cute!

2.) Snow White kissed my 9 year old brother. (but we don't like to talk about it...:secret:) It was really cute.

3.) Ariel claimed to recognize me. I thought it was the coolest thing. She said that it was so nice of me to come back after not coming to her grotto for so many years.

4.) Pocahontis' little raccoon (is it Meko? I forget.) tried to eat my sister's coral necklace. Pocahontis said that he thought they were candy.

I love the characters!

Cinderella,

In Oct 05, we had dinner at the GF. FG gushed over Kirsta's special dress I made for her. She stopped me on the way out to ask where I got the matching shoes (they were clear with white toes, and Cinderella on the heel). Prince Charming told Kirsta a secret she would NOT share with us the whole week and we really tried to get it out of her.

An entire week later, we ate with the Princesses in Norway. Cinderella got to our table and asked Kirsta if they met before. Kirsta just stared at her, Cinderella said "I remember, you had dinner with me and wore that special dress your fairy godmother made for you". OMG!! I can only imagine how many Prince and Princesses she met in the week since we had dinner with her.

Kirsta will always tell you that dinner with Cinderella is her favorite thing and eating with the Princesses is second.

A couple that happened recently at the P&P:

I met Pirate Donald and Mickey, who were sharing a line. And I walked right past Mickey and told Donald I liked him more. Donald got so excited and pulled me to the side, hugging me and not letting me go. Mickey looked over all sad and as the Photopass guy was taking pictures of me and Donald, he began trying to inch over into the pictures as Donald kept pushing him away. So since I felt bad that I had ignored Mickey, I told him we can get some together and he gave me a kiss!

The second one was with Jack Sparrow. I was dressed as a pirate and when I got to Jack, he looked and me and said, "We've met before, you were wearing that same medallion." I was amazed that he had actually remembered me from back in March because not only had he probably seen about 2000+ other girls dressed as pirates, but because the last time I had seen him I had been wearing normal clothes (plus the medallion). So it made my night, the best part of it, actually.

Other recent entertaining experiences was having Abu and Genie both fall in love with me when I kissed them, Meeko stealing John Smith's hate and trying to be a pirate with me, and having Remy trying to eat my autograph book.
