Are binoculars needed for the AK safari?

Not really, but they would offer a better view if you want to see an animal that is at the far end of its habitat. The cheetah comes to mind. Every time I've ridden the safari, the cheetah is a good 100 yards away. However, the majority of animals are close enough to get a good view of without binoculars. Using them may be a little tricky though. The truck (usually) never stops moving and can be quite bouncy. Be sure to use the neck strap.

If you have a small pair and will be carrying a bag any way the go for it. If all you have are larger ones I would not recomend it. I love the safari, the earlier you go the better it seems.
