I know that some of you have gotten a "day rate" at Atlantis. I'm having trouble getting that info from their site. The best I can come up with is $517/night for a Mon. in Oct. (we're cruising Oct '08) at which point it would be "cheaper" to do the shore excursion at $155 x 3 of us. Does anyone have a # to contact Atlantis direct or info on how to get the "day rate" and actually get it reserved? We want to do the water park! Thanks:mickey:

You've already found the new Aquaventure excursion which gives access to the slides, new water park, etc.:

Atlantis Aquaventure
Immerse yourself in the splendor of Atlantis Resort and its new 63-acre water park, Aquaventure — and experience an oasis amidst paradise.

Sit back, relax and take in the sights during an approximate 25-minute, air-conditioned motor coach drive through historic Nassau as you make your way to the world-renowned Atlantis Resort in Paradise Island. Recalling the mythic lost island city in breathtaking detail, Atlantis is home to the world's largest open-air marine habitat, where 14 fascinating exhibits and 13 sparkling lagoons brim with over 50,000 sea creatures representing 250 species. A plethora of luxury shopping, fine dining and casino gaming ensures Atlantis is as much fun on land as it is in the water. Upon your arrival at the resort, explore the underwater archaeological aquarium known as The Dig during an eye-opening guided walking tour — and behold a astounding array of manta rays, sharks, jellyfish and other wonders of the sea.

After your tour, dive into the magic of Atlantis' newest 63-acre treasure: Aquaventure waterscape. Featuring state-of-the-art water slides, river rapids, waterfalls, water holes and amazing special effects, Aquaventure is far from your usual water park. Just hop in your very own inner tube and sit back as you are propelled along a river to the main water attractions via a series of special escalators, waves and surges — without ever having to leave the water! Take the plunge from one of the four thrilling water slides of the 120-foot tall Power Tower. Plunge into the Abyss — a near-vertical 50 feet drop through a tumbling waterfall into total darkness — before finding yourself submerged in a deep cenote filled with Alligator Gars. Coast along the bouncy inner tube slides of The Drop, The Falls and The Surge and then catch some white-water waves at The Rapids. It's all up to you! Spectacular special effects, video technology and a lush landscape design make the journey even more thrilling.

After you've taken in the thrills and spills of Aquaventure, experience even more what Atlantis Resort has in store. Chill out and soak up the sun and surf on one of the many beaches. Surrender to the elegance of the Royal Baths Pool or take in the laidback atmosphere of the Lazy River Pool. Rent a water-bike, kayak or snorkeling equipment and surround yourself in the tranquil beauty of Paradise Lagoon. Hit the casino — awash with decorative glass sculptures that jet into the sky — and try your luck at slots, blackjack or craps. Or spend the afternoon shopping at high-end stores like Coach, Cartier and Gucci in the Marina Village. After your approximate eight-hour visit, return from paradise with a scenic 20/30-minute, air-conditioned drive back to the ship.
The Aquaventures water park sounds amazing!

I've seen all kinds of answers about getting a day room at the Atlantis resort or the Comfort Inn & Suites. You might try calling the Atlantis directly (the reservation number is 1-888-528-7155 and is posted on their site). You also might be able to obtain a good room rate for the Atlantis through TravelZoo or one of the other travel sites like Hotels or Hotwire.

Good luck!

Subscribe to Travelzoo first. We got a fantastic nightly room rate. We paid less for the room for 4 of us than it would have cost us for the excursion. And they even upgraded us to the Royal Tower! This was great because we could change into our bathing suits at the resort and then shower and change again to go back to the ship.
We took a water boat over to the resort and a van/cab back to the ship. It was only $3 per person each way.

I was able to get a room at the Comfort Suites Paradise Island (242-363-3680) for 3 adults for $219.74. You still get full access to everything at the Atlantis including the waterpark.

Wow! I just checked the Atlantis Aquadventure online and was amazed at how expensive it was. For us three it would have been $465. By getting the room at comfort suites we are saving $245!!!!!! And with that much in savings I don't mind paying for a taxi and missing a guided tour!

How can you be certain that the Comfort Inn will still be able to use the Atlantis facilities at the time of your cruise? I have been afraid to book there because sometimes hotels close these loopholes. They require payment in advance, so I don't know what to do! I feel safer booking directly at Atlantis, but it is much more expensive.

I just talked to a reservations agent at this resort. The direct number for Atlantis is 1-888-528-7155. The way the day rate works is this: the charge is about $350 for a family of 4 and you have access to everything except a room. (It's a per person charge and was much higher than I expected, about the same price for us as Disney's "Discover Atlantis" package.) But you can only book this package at the hotel THE DAY OF YOUR ARRIVAL; you cannot book it in advance since it is subject to the number of guests already booked at the resort on that day. You cannot guarantee this or reserve it. The did offer me a nightly room rate of $501 which includes access to everything and a room, though check in it at 3pm. They do have a transit lounge that you can use to change if you have a room at the resort and it is not ready when you arrive.

It depends on the resort occupancy if day rooms are available. Sometimes it's less expensive to book a regular room and just check in early. Of course, the least expensive option is Comfort Suites.
