i have a pair of binoculars , the number on them is 7 x 35. can anybody tell me what the numbers mean ? also i would like to get a better ,newer pair that can see further and clearer. can anybody help suggest a brand ? also if anybody knows , how much do they cost ?

The 7 is the magnification....7x. The 35 is the milimeters in aperature. The more aperature the more light can get in which is GOOD. I own a pair of 15x 70 celestron skymasters for astronomy. The 70 is particularly good at night due to a lack of light. If i were you id get a pair of 12x50 or something like that for a good overall bino. Walmart will sell them. Bushnells are ok. Price around 25.00-50.00. my 15x70's cost me 70.00 on amazon.
