Week after Thanksgiving

We have closed on our re-sale from SSR and are just waiting for the points to be transfered into the Disney system. How difficult would it be, once our points transfer, to book a ressie for the week after Thanksgiving? Is this a popular time for DVC'ers? Are the Christmas decorations up then? If they are booked full, is it worth it to get waitlisted?

The period does seem to be a popular one for DVC members. Doesn't hurt anything to give member services a call and ask.
