Remember Main Street Electrical Parade?

Isn't this the same as Specto Magic but with a new name?

We got back to the world last November after 15 years and missed Spectro Magic, the parade only ran one of the nights we were there. We are going back this October and hope to catch it.
Is it much different from the Main St. Electrical Parade of the late 80's early 90's?

I think Spectro is similar in idea, but different in execution. I love both parades. Spectromagic is not the same parade. The Main St. Electrical Parade had more of a whimsical feel. The Spectromagic is a little darker in tone. Both are fantastic to watch and feature music and lights, and characters. There are sites that will show you the old Electric parade floats and sights. Spectro is all new, none of the same floats or features.

I love Spectro but I have such great memories of the DA DA DA DAAAAAA The Main Street Electric Parade. Both have GREAT soundtracks!

They are definitely different, its the same idea, lights at night, but different themes. Spectro has alot of fantasia based imagery, while M.E.P. has more Classic Disney movies and a weird random circus scene. Each are very good and very different

I really miss those bugs from the Main Street Electrical Parade.......

I use to love to watch them spin arond and around in the street........

Same concept...but different. Though I love MSEP. You can watch the MSEP at DCA.

Totally different! Apples and oranges. Spectro is not bad, MSEP was AWESOME! Just the music set it apart completely! The only similarities I see is that they are both parades that incorporate lights! Man, I miss MSEP! :(

the MSEP is the best parade ever. spectromagic is good but I really miss MSEP. one of these days when i make it to DL i hope to be able to see it again. :goofy:

I admit that I like the Electrical Parade better. I loved the music and it was much more "whimsical."

They are both light parades but there was something about the Electric Light Parade that I loved. A large part of it was the music.
