2008 Rates?

Anyone know when we can expect 2008 room rates to be released?

Nothing is for sure! I've heard sometime after July 31st. Before that i was told sometime in July! Now i'm hearing not until the end of August.

im sure this is a source of great frustration for a lot of people right now - not having the 2008 packages ready within 6 months of 2008 is crazy! im ready to book my plane tix and my package - we don't go until april 08 which leaves us plenty of time - for those of you going in jan. and feb. i can't even imagine :bang::wait::doh:

I went ahead and made room only reservations for May on last Saturday. The CM told me that the 2008 rates would be ready by the end of the first week in August. Fortunatly for us, we have AP's so we do not need the complete package.

I am waiting for room only 2008 rates myself. Hopefully, AP or AAA rate.

I would like to go the week of MLK Day weekend so I only have to use 4 days vacation. However, with the possibility that WDW is moving to a new booking system in 2008, I am holding off until I see what the 2008 rate structure looks like before I do anything.

Because I tentatively plan to go in January or early February 2008, I do hope the new rates are released sooner than later.:mickey:

Yeah...going within the first two weeks of January and still no rates is a bit nerve racking.

It isn't anything too difficult since I am bound and determined to go then.

It is just quite frustrating to not know how much the trip will dent the wallet.

Especially considering the freak hail storm that hit a few weeks ago and damaged my car. That really hurt the savings account I had going. Doesn't mother nature know I want to go to Disney World?!

All in all, I really hope prices don't jump up too much...

If my memory serves me correctly, they released the 2007 rates on August 7, 2006 so I'm guessing the rates will be released within the next week or so.

Does anyone know about how much the 2008 rates will increase? Or what the increse was from 06-07?

I called earlier this evening and was told they think next week for 2008 rates.

CM indicated that they may increase by 2-4%?!

Who knows??

I just booked my trip for early January, and the CM said that the rates may go up $2-4 for the ASMu. We're committed, and looking forward to AP rates!

Yep, goin in Jan here as well. Hoping for a decent rate at the CBR and maybe, eventually a nice AP discount. But my ADRs are all set at least! :thumbsup:

I just wanted to say that a few days ago I read that the 2008 rates would be out Aug. 5th. So we will wait and see :mickey:

FYI - I just checked my POR reservations for our up coming Jan. 2008 trip on the Disney website and they have gone up in price.

For the nights of Sat., Jan. 12 thru Thur., Jan. 17 for a king bed room they went up $5.00 per night and for a regular room they increased $4.00 per night.

For Fri., Jan. 18 and Sat., Jan. 19 which fall durning the MLK hoilday weekend both rooms have increased by an additional $10.00 per night per room.

They are now $165.00 and $175.00 for the king and $149.00 and $159.00 for the regular.

Just thought you all might want to know.

The curiosity is killing me as to how much the rate will change for my trip.

I tried to compare my room only rate versus what it is now, but DW's page isn't working.

I guess I will leave all that brain work to MJ :mickey:

edit: in a matter of five minutes, I got a quote from MJ! Man are they quick!

It doesn't look like the price for our package is drastically different. Infact, Wendy said that for January, in regards to our resort portion, the only time the price changes is for MLK weekend. Lucky for us, we aren't staying during MLK.

Looks like we are saving money in the end. We decided to not do the DDP.

The rates came out today, August 5th, and can be found on the Walt Disney World website.
