On a typical trip to WDW, which park do you usually visit first (or does it depend on other factors, like predicted crowd levels, EMH, time of day, etc.)?

One last reminder: the review of questions 71-80 is here: Review of Questions 71-80 (http://www.intercot.com/discussion/showthread.php?t=110364)

Question #90 will be in Vacation Planning, most likely on Friday.

It really depends upon what are plans are, and the length of our stay. If we are going to a special event, then that is the park we usually go to first. It also depends upon which day of the week we arrive.

If we go to the park on arrival day, we go to EPCOT. Our first full day in the park is always MK.

What park we go to first really depends on our arrival time and what if any dinner reservations we have for that evening. I can say that MK is the park that we always do last. Get one last hurrah before we leave for home.

We always visit the Magic Kingdom first. I love it at night but we have started to not go until our first morning, we're usually so tired from travelling.

MK is the first park and the last park we visit because it is our favorite and to us sybolizes what we think of when we think of Disney! :mickey: :cloud9: It is so magical and always starts the trip off right! :pixie:

So far, MK each trip. I could see that when the kids get older, it could become Epcot. Especially if staying at one of the Epcot resorts.

Our first park is often MK but it really depends on whether we arrive when they have later hours at night and when we arrive. This year we will likely hit Epcot first then end the evening at MK because of the later hours at MK.

MK always first and last, it is the best way to start and end the trip. :mickey:

Our first park is always the Magic Kingdom. We drive and park the first day and ride the tram and the Ferry over to MK. Then we head straight for IASW. It is always our first ride. It is also the last park we visit.

We ususally check into our resort and then head of to the MK. IWe catch a some rides and then stick around for SpectroMagic and Wishes.:mickey:

To my mother, a Walt Disney World vacation has not begun until a visit to the Magic Kingdom. We always start our trip with a walk into Fantasyland and a ride on Peter Pan's Flight.

We always go to MK first, then it depends who has the EMH to finish out that first day.

I always check and see what Intercot says are the least crowded/more crowded days at the parks and schedule accordingly. I always do my homework on Intercot!

We use to strategically plan our first park based on early-entry or least crowds. However - we've realized that we just don't get the same "We're here" feeling unless we make the MK our first stop. So regardless of crowds, we always walk down Mainstreet first! :mickey:

it depends...where ever we feel like going we go to that park first...

It varies - the only real "tradition" we have is that we go to DTD the day we arrive to hit World of Disney & Ghirardelli's.

We generally go to MK first. It's our favorite and the most Disneyesque. We also end our trip with MK. We like to have the memory of Main Street and Cinderella Castle fresh in our minds when we get home!!

On our last trip we didn't hit MK until day three. It was kind of weird. But we didn't stay on site so we avoided parks with emh and where we had our two adrs.

For us it varies. It depends on projected park levels, the day of week we arrive, the time of day we arrive, and what resort we are at. In June we stayed at BCV so we naturally walked into Epcot first, but last summer we were at VWL, so then it was MK. Anyway you look at it, as long as you're in the parks, it's going to be a magical day.:mickey:

In general we tend to go to the Magic Kingdom first, but not always. Everything from weather to EMH determines the order of the parks we attend.

I chose the Magic Kingdom. We almost always get in the early evening and the Magic Kingdom is usually the park that's opened the latest so we head over there. Starting with the Magic Kingdom just confirms that we're really at Disney and on vacation.

I almost always visit MK first of course this does vary from time to time based on new attractions, EMHs, and length of stay.

It really just depends on the day of week that we arrive which dictates where we eat. Last year Saturday - Epcot. This year Friday - Studios.

MAGIC KINGDOM!!!!:mickey3: :minnie: :dumbo: :tigger: :pluto: :goofy: :pooh: :eeyore:

That is the #1 priority once we get on Disney property. Except this time, we wont be able to hit MK until our 1st full day, cause this time, we are planning on making a beeline for EE, then heading over to EPCOT for ADR's at Coral Reef.

We don't have a set park. My first trip was Epcot, second MK, not sure about this next trip, I'm thinking AK because it has morning EMH. We'll see!

For me, it depends on which park is open latest on the day I arrive. With arriving late, I want to get the most out of the day.

For us it would be between MK and EPCOT so I chose no single park. It depends who is with us and at what time we arrive.

Our family tradition is to check in at the resort, jump on a bus to Epcot, and head straight for Spaceship Earth. DS informed us this year that the vacation doesn't really start for him until he smells Rome burning.:mickey:

It varies. I go by which park will be the least crowded. Last time we went to Epcot first. This time will be MK.

It's a tradition in our family to begin & end our vacation at MGM to see Fantasmic.

We first saw this show at Disneyland and we were SO excited when they brought the show to WDW.

Just 43 days go:woohoo:

Before each trip to Disney World, I make a schedule of each parks regular operating hours, EMH, traditionally busiest days, etc., so I have a basic idea of which parks I should hit on each day of our trip. It also depends on what time we arrive at our resort and get checked in. However, I've also been known to throw all those plans out the window and just go where ever I feel like going.(I am on vacation after all!):)

Our typical trip begins with check-in. As we always stay at monorail resorts, check-in is followed by our now-traditional monorail ride to the Magic Kingdom to purchase APs. So, the Magic Kingdom beckons with train whistles and lovely, sweet aromas. We love to begin with the familiar and friendly.

I have a tradition of starting and ending with the MK and I usually try to make my first ride my last ride. For some reason it helps me focus on how great the trip started out and how good it was so it makes leaving a little easier.

Typically, our first evening is spent at DTD, but our first full day in the park varies. We're mixing things up this time--we're going to try and hit MGM on arrival day.

EvilQueen2006
07-19-2007, 09:48 PM
I picked AK, because that is what has ended up happening the last few trips. It's usually AK or MGM because we usually don't spend as many days at those parks, so the first "half" day is used on them.

I thought you had to start at MK then I went with my kids DD11 and DS13 and learned the only way to start an exciting week is on the most exciting rides so we go to MGM to ride RnRC.

We typically go to the MK first but this year we are going to the Studios first. We arrive on September 12th and we are heading to the MNSSHP on the 14th so we're switching it up a bit so we are not in the same park two days in a row.

We ususally go to the studios since over half the day is gone by the time we fly in and then check in the resort. MGM is small enough that you can still do a bunch even in 1/2 a day.

I'm sure if it's by chance or design but we alway visit EPCOT first. The first attraction we do on our trips is SSE and the last attraction we hit before the airport is SSE. It's become a habit at this point it would seem wrong to change things.

No matter what additions are made to the parks, the Magic Kingdom is our first stop. For me, the MK epitomizes all that is Disney. I also feel this way when we go to DLR, we always do DL before DCA.

Also, on a more sentimental note, both the MK and DL were Walt's vision and there is just such a magical feeling that makes me have to go there first.

It all depends on which day we start our park visits. We know some parks are busier than others on different days, so we pick our first by that information. :mickey:

Our first & last park days are MK! Arrival day is always DTD! Our first trip we went to Epcot on our first park day because we woke to a rainy day & I had read Epcot is great on a rainy day because so much is indoors. It was great, and we always do 2 days of Epcot, but starting & ending with MK is pure magic!:magic:

We usually do MK first, unless we want to be there at night for the parade and fire works, then we might start in a nother park, and then work are way over if we are not planning on being in MK all day.
