We will be visiting MGM for a long day on our upcoming trip. I was wondering where a good place to cool down and get out of the heat for a bit. I know at other parks there are places with sprinklers and such. Is there any such area at MGM?

Muppetvision 3D, Great Movie ride, & Voyage of the Little Mermaid shows are where we usually go to cool down & relax.

I can't remember if this is still here or not, but I remember a misting station where they also sold Coke products. I think it was somwhere past the character trailers and near the Backlot Tour attraction. Somebody help me out with this one.

I forgot about that. Yes it's still there. That's right where the wall went up blocking off Mickey Ave.

You can cool off at the Coca Cola misting station, or you can take a load off your feet and relax at Sounds Dangerous. I know lots of people make fun of this attraction, but it's lovely and cool, and dark for most of the time, so you really can relax.
I agree with a previous response that Muppet 3D and Voyage of the Little Mermaid are also good locations.

We usually wait do Great Movie Ride and Muppet 3D until we need a break. Fun attractions, cool locations hit the spot.
The misting station is refreshing, too

Nothing beats a trip back to the resort for a swim if you can.

Ooh great ideas. We found the car stunt show to be a little warm if your trying to avoid the heat.

The voyage of the little mermaid is my favorite place to cool down when its really hot. Love the rain in there. I also love Muppets and shopping in the gift shops.

If you walk like you were going to go to Playhouse Disney or the Little Mermaid, right in between the two is a place where you can walk around and it has various memorabilia of Disney, etc., and characters, etc., it has benches and air conditioning...great place to stop and refresh!

One Man's Dream is a great place to get out the heat relax and see some great Disney Memorabillia. Then relax a little more and watch the short Movie about Walt :mickey:

If you're hungry, the Sci-Fi theater is a great place to cool off and get a bite to eat.

Pizza Planet is a good cool down spot. Plus you can take in a few video games while yer there. (and you don't have to wait in line) :mickey:

Another vote for One Man's Dream. I got "talked into this" on one trip and found it to be very relaxing stroll which pays a great tribute to what Disney is all about.

Tower of Terror is air conditioned( and always sends a "chill" up your spine). Also, the shops, Most of the shows, Star Tours, and the Great Movie Ride are indoors. If it isn't closed during your visit, Rock'n' Roller Coaster is also indoors.

Any of the indoor attractions are a great place to cool down. The Pizza Planet is great if you have little ones that aren't ready for quiet time but need to get cool. One Man's Dream is a wonderful show for the grown-ups and a cool place for a quick nap. The misting station is always fun. :mickey:

I'd have to agree with everyone on MuppetVision. I love it there and I would sit in there for hours.
