July 13, 1955 – “The Pre-Opening Report from Disneyland,” the final progress report on Disneyland’s construction aired on ABC, 4 days away from the grand opening. A special event happened while the show was airing at Disneyland. Walt and Lillian would celebrate their 30th wedding anniversary at Disneyland. Lillian Disney invited guests to a “Tempus Fugit Celebration,” in which guests were transported down Main Street into Frontierland by horse-drawn surreys, then guests would take a ride around the Rivers of America aboard the Mark Twain.
