I don't know if others have had experiences similar to this, but with the Kilimanjaro Safari ride you never know what those animals will be doing at any given moment. In our case, on our honeymoon a few years back, we were on the ride and turned a corner (I, of course, had the camcorder going) and there was a black rhino emptying out his bladder for all to see. I suppose it was better he was doing that than the other. Needless to say, the entire train was laughing.

I've been on this ride about three or four times each trip, but i can't recall anything too humorous that wasn't simply me being juvenile and finding humor in parts of the speil that weren't meant to be funny.

On our first trip though, we were riding in the afternoon, and a whole herd of giraffe were grazing by the road, and three were directly blocking the road. The cm's stopped the trucks, and the guest in several jeeps got some great moments with the giraffes until the ride got so backed up that the keepers had to come with some long poles to prod the giraffes out of the way. The funny part was that the largest of the three, probably the bull of the herd, was being stubborn and not moving, despite getting poked, while the two smaller giraffes took of quickly. It was as if he was saying, "yeah, I'm 18 feet tall buddy, I don't sweat you." Eventually the big giraffe walked of at its leisure. The exciting part was that some elephants were nearby on the other side of the tram, so we got a good look at both.

Sorry if that story wasn't all that funny, but it's probably the most humorous thing that happened to us! :mickey:

Not exactly a humorous moment, but..... the first time riding Kilimanjaro Safai we had an awesome tour guide. The second time we rode - 3 years later we had the SAME tour guide. When we boarded the ride and heard her voice we all had this strange sensation and just looked at each other. She was very cool.

When we last rode, we had a really great view of the lions. As soon as we pointed it out to the kids (so they could take some photos), they decided to have a little romantic rendevous. The kids had no idea and just kept on snapping away. Needless to say, those were some interesting photos.

This happened this past December. The driver slowed, started talking about the lions and they sarted getting romantic. The driver floored it outta there. My 9 year old DS watches a LOT of Animal Planet and looked at us and said,"What, they're JUST mating!"Me and DW looked at each other and busted out laughing.:D

We've gone on this attraction numerous times, since it's one of our favorites. The last time we rode, a new driver was being trained. She was very sweet and was doing a great job, but you could tell she was a nervous wreck. She missed a couple of "lines" throughout the ride. We didn't mind, since she was trying her best. :)At the end of the ride, instead of saying, "I hope you had a great African safari today" (or something along those lines), she said, "I hope you had an African safari today." We started giggling because it was obvious she just took us on a safari. I guess it doesn't sound so funny now, but at the time it was pretty funny.

My most humorous moment was in 2004. It was my Nieces' first trip to WDW. When we started to pull away on the safari and the driver mentioned that we would be gone for 2 weeks my Niece looked at me in pure confusion and said "but we leave for home in 6 days". :D

this was in august of '01, a black rhino decided to walk along side our vehicle, and I mean right next to it. He looked like he was wanting to be our escort for the whole ride. Well he did not move from the side of the vehicle and so the driver makes a joke about the Rhino always wanting to be filmed on his best side. No sooner did she say that the Rhino turned his rear end toward everyone. The timng was priceless.
