I don't know if this has already been posted, but does anyone have any idea who the next narrator of SE will be? ANy rumors out there? I think Charlie Gibson would be a perfect fit, and already a cast member!

I've heard rumors of Patrick Stewart on another website... I think he'd be fantastic!!

Walter Conkite and Jeremy Irons were terrific. I think James Earl Jones has one of the best voices in Hollywood.

I agree.

Another vote for James Earl Jones as SSE's next narrator.

Kelsey Grammer would be an excellent choice, too.

Pee Wee Herman.....
:funny::laughing: Oh, I could just hear that now!

I like Mike Rowe, I think he could do a good job.

:exactly:
He has a GREAT voice! I would love to hear him narrate it. He already does the narration for "Deadliest Catch". I would mind seeing him as well.:D

Not sure where I read it, but, someone asked Jeremy Irons if he was approached to do the voice of Spaceship Earth again and he said no. I like James Earl Jones for the new voice of Spaceship Earth.

Peter Cullen, voice of Optimus Prime, movie trailer voiceover guy (not the "In a world..." guy, but they know each other), voice of Eeyore!

Yeah, James Earl Jones or Patrick Stewart would do go, but I think Cullen could do a very good job.

But, in his absence, I'll pick Patrick Stewart.

How about another Star Trek captain? Captain Sisko of DS9 - Avery Brooks. He has a commanding voice and I have been hearing him a lot recently on the History Channel and Discovery.

Bobcat Goldthwaite?

Eddie Izzard...

No.

I think Patrick Stewart would be great

Or even Seth McFarlane!

Here is my idea:

You could have multiple narrators. You could give each person equal time and put them in appropriate areas where their voice would make a bigger impact on the rider. For example you could use Mike Rowe, James Earl Jones and Patrick Stewart. Each person has their own distinct voice and I think it would keep riders more interested. Sometimes listening to the same voice for a prolonged period of time gets dull and boring. Mix it up a little.

Thats not actually a bad idea and it could use the same system that they are using at the end of the ride with the touch screens. Definitely would increase re-ride ability. I don't think that Mike Rowe would fit the theme for the ride (even though Dirty Jobs and Deadliest Catch are both really cool). James Earl Jones and Patrick Stewart both would fit the bill excellent.

I'd say Morgan Freeman, but he narrates EVERYTHING. (Well, it seems like he does...)

But, Walter Cronkite is a nice choice as well as James Earl Jones.

Eddie Izzard...

No.

What's wrong with Eddie Izzard?? He actually has a great voice, although not the best voice for SSE.

I agree with others here....Patrick Stewart or James Earl Jones.

i love jeremy irons.. i don't think they ought to replace his narration...I have the whole thing on my MP3 player :)

But I guess James Earl Jones :darth: would be my second choice. :D

Patrick Stewart, Avery Brooks, and James Earl Jones are wonderful choices. I'd say Gary Senise would be great, but he's down the block at M:S.

How about Tom Hanks? Ever hear his intros in the "From the Earth to the Moon" series?

He does, although I couldn't be too sure he wouldn't mention Jam, or SSE being coverd in bees, or Jeff Vader

What about Christopher Plummer or Capt. James T himself???? How cool would Shatner be? I am axious about this. SSE is one of my favourite rides, and I LOVE LOVE LOVE the narration by Jeremy Irons..... so.... I don't want to be disappointed. (BTW I love Mike Rowe -- he is soooo funny -- but I think they need to make a "spacey" connection).:mickey:

I also think this is a great idea. I am not sure who they should be though. Patrick Stewart and James earl Jones are good suggestions, but i think someone with and American flair would be good. Rowe is not a bad idea. He'd add some humor.

you're all wrong, i know exactly who is going to do it: SAMUEL L. JACKSON (oh wait this is a kid friendly ride isn't it, well that shoots that idea) or does it:mickey:

I agree...I can't imagine another voice for this attraction. But I have total faith in Disney; I'm sure than when it's done, it's going to be terrific. And if not, I'll have my Intercot family to commisserate with.

I think they should go with something a bit less traditional.

How about George Clooney, or even Charlie Sheen. They both have good voices, and they would appeal to a younger crowed.

George Clooney would actually be a good choice I think...great voice for it and a very current choice...

Think they could dig up Paul Frees so he could do it?

Or maybe they could get the blonde guy from Queer Eye for the Straight Guy to do it.

:D

Just kidding. :) Just Kidding.

Yes, good guy and it is hard to believe he went from doing local Baltimore area commercials and half-hour long Baltimore area house selling informercials to being a popular host and narrarator for The Discovery Channel.

At least he doesn't have that annoying Bawl-mer accent, hon. *shiver*

I'd like to keep Jeremy Irons as the narrator. I'm just so used to his voice and I'm not sure if I'd like anyone elses voice on there.

I was also used to Walter Cronkite. He was great. Then came Jeremy Irons. It took me a while to get used to him. It is time for yet another new narrator or narrators. Se will benew and different, so the narrator should be as well.

Bill O'reilly....He'll provide a fair and balanced look at the future... :ack: LOL

But seriously... when I first saw this thread I immediately thought of either James Earl Jones or Morgan Freeman. I have heard some really good ones in this thread though. I definitely think Peter Cullen or Patrick Stewart would be great as well. How about Charleton Heston?

Count me in on the multiple narrator idea. Different voices through different sections. Or at the end have a different voice for whatever ending is chosen.

1. Jeremy Irons
2. James Earl Jones
3. Patrick Stewart
4. Mike Rowe
5. Tom Hanks

Morgan Freeman or Ed Harris would be quite good
or if you want to make it a tad funny Bill Murray
a earlier suggestion was William Shatner ...yep i could live with that

Seeing as how Jeremy Irons became the narrator right around the time "The Lion King" was released, I started thinking back on voices from recent Disney films. The two names I came up with right off the bat are Paul Newman (Cars) and Tom Selleck (Meet the Robinsons). Both great voices!

How about Antonio Banderas? He could do both English and Spanish? Or possibly Ricardo Montalbán.

I think Patrick Stewart and James Earl Jones are good choices, however, I think Disney should go the extra mile and utilize computer technology to create a narration by Orson Welles.

I like the very first suggestion- Charles Gibson. :)

I am very curious to see who it will be- I have no doubt they will choose someone with a distinctive and commanding voice.
