Extra Magic Hours allow WDW resort guests to enter a park early in the AM or stay after closing in the PM. Each day the EMH park changes both in the morning and night. Overall, which do you prefer: Morning EMH or Night EMH?

For those of us in the USA, enjoy the 4th of July holiday today...have fun and be safe!

Y100Q78 will be an Accommodations question, most likely on Thursday.

The review of questions 61-70 will be posted later this week.

Evening EMH! We have teens who can go all night, but there's no getting them out of bed in time for EMH. Plus, the parks have a certain magic at night and crowds get smaller as the hours wear on.

Morning. With small children, that one's pretty obvious.

Even with three small children I find it hard to get out the door for the morning EMH but we love to stay late in the parks. Sometimes my parents will take the little ones back to the room so DH and I can do a little touring alone! Like SBETigg said the parks do seem to have more magic at night.

EMH Evening is a must for our family. We are all a bunch of night owls anyway!! I can't anyone out of bed before 7am. Even with an infant, we did every EMH when we were there, and we'll do it again when she's one. When she's ready to fall asleep, our DGD does so in her comfy stroller. We continue to enjoy the evening.

We usually do both at times on our trips. Even though I am a morning person I went with the EMH and the sole reason I went with it is because in the morning it is only one hour extra compared to 2 to 3 in the evening. More is always better!!!!

Night. don't have to wake up early, and you get to close the park down.

This was a hard choice. We plan everything around EMH. We prefer MK, MGM and AK for eening and have found EPCOT am EMH easier for us.

I am sure this next trip with my nephew, DH and I will not make it to see pm EMH.

More time in the parks is always a good thing, but I said evening, since I never want to leave at the end of the night.

We like morning EMH. The people who don't like reaching the park early really don't like getting there even earlier. It's so great to get into the park and be able to get so many rides in before the park fills up. Sometimes evening EMH is so crowded, you can't get on many rides.

Both are fun. I picked morning because sometimes the evening EMHs seem so crowded. It seems fewer people do the morning EMHs, hence the poll results here. :D I like that it is not crowded and we get to do more during morning EMHs. But, don't tell anyone about the low crowds. :secret:;)

I am definitely not a morning person - it's the night emh for me!

Have a safe & happy 4th!

I agree! I'm not a teen but I still have trouble making it out early enough for the morning EMH but can go all night. Plus I just love the parks at night. They do seem do be even more magical! So as a night owl, definitely evening EMH!:mickey:

I can't get up early enough for morning EMH but I take full advantage of evening. It's that west coast time difference!

Personally, at WDW I avoid EMH, but when I arrive at DLR I always attend the EMH during the mornings.

I voted for Evening Extra Magic Hours because DH is not a morning person. It's one thing to get him up and to the regular opening time, but to an early entrance part? Forget about it. We enjoy the small small crowds we've always experienced at the PM EMH and will continue to frequent them when they fit into our touring plans.

I voted for morning since I have young kids. That worked best for us.

Although, we did get to do some evening EMH for a bit and that was great too. (we just didn't get to do enough of it for me)

NIGHT NIGHT NIGHT!!!! I hate mornings! I love that I can sleep in a bit because I know there is more time later on in the evening. More adults in the park as this time as well.

I voted for night EMH...no matter how hard I try I cannot get us up and going to take true advantage of morning EMH.

I think evening EMH are better because they're longer than morning, and the later they are, the more the crowds tend to thin out. Course, DD can't really handle the really late night, but we're working on it! LOL

Night, that way I can sleep in but then enjoy extra time in the evening.

Definitely night! Even when our kids were younger, we would do the parks late. We aren't good at early rising:alarm:!!

I enjoy staying up late, so nights are always easier. I like how the crowds thin as the night goes on, as opposed to building as the morning gets later.

I'm a morning person trapped in a night owl's schedule. If given the choice, I'd like to get to the park before the general public and ride the best rides before the lines got too long. There is no time like early morning in WDW, with the whole day to look forward to. :mickey:

Prior to our last trip I probably would've automatically picked night. I am definitely a night person and can hang with the best of them. But I found night EMH's, especially at MK, to be entirely way too crowded for my liking. I'm talking lines 2 to 3x as long as they at the peak of the day. Whereas in the morning, its generally less crowded than normal hours. I am not a morning girl by any means, but for me Disney is a different sort of vacation and I will gladly drag my butt out of bed early if it means I will get to do and see more. :mickey:

Extra Magic Hours in the evening are more practical for my family. We generally avoid the park that opens early, instead arriving somewhere else before 9 a.m.

My brother and I love sticking around after the nighttime show to ride a few more attractions by utilizing the later Extra Magic Hours.

Night because the park can stay open up to three hours later!

Normally we would like the late EMH better, but since we're taking our 2 year old this year who will need to get to bed at a halfway decent hour we're really counting on the morning EMH's to make sure we take advantage of all our favorite attractions.

154 more days!!

Sleeping in is a critical part of our vacation. Not to mention our 8yo thinks staying up until 2:00am is the best part of being at Disney.

I voted for Evening EMH. Morning EMHs are great, but I don't like starting out my day rushing around. Evening EMHs give you the chance to bum around all day, taking things in at your own pace, and then spending the last few minutes of your time in the park frantically running around trying to ride Space Mountain for the 6th time in one hour.

Besides....there's something REALLY special about MK at night.

During this last trip I stayed in the MK until 2:00AM.. it was awesome.. No one was there to bother ya....

Even though we are coming from a time zone that makes an 8am EMM a 6am EMM, I prefer the mornings!!!

I am too tired by 8pm or so to do anything but go back and sleep.

Night. Vacations are about relaxing and for me that means some extra sleep in time I can't get at home. :sleepin:

I like to do both if I can. Get there early eat an early lunch than head back to the hotel for a swim and a nap. Than go back out for dinner and some late night fun. Will see how this works with the kids. They are usually up by 630 at home. And they need an afternoon nap so will see how late they will want to stay up.

I prefer the evening EMH becasue it is a fun way to finish the day, you get pumped and get your second wind. It is also nice that the sun has gone down, and the parks get much emptier.
