Hi everyone,

My boyfriend and I would like to visit Disneyland sometime during spring break of next year, but every Web site and book I've checked out has given a mixed review on visiting the park at that time of year. Our break starts on Sat, March 15 and ends on Sun, March 23 (Easter).

Does anyone have any advice for our trip? I'm particularly interested in crowd size and rowdiness, as I know spring breakers can sometimes be a little..uh...energetic. :beer:Also, does anyone know if Disney or any of the hotels and restaurants in the area offer student discounts?

Thanks! :mickey:

Student discounts are pretty non-existant when it comes to hotel rates, but if you are smart and book ahead you can find decent rates at the Good Neighbor properties (http://disneyland.disney.go.com/disneyland/en_US/hotels/gnh/landing?name=GoodNeighborHotelsLandingPage) such as the Best Western Park Place Inn (http://book.bestwestern.com/bestwestern/productInfo.do?propertyCode=05470), The Fairfield Inn (http://www.marriott.com/hotels/travel/laxoc-fairfield-inn-anaheim-disneyland-resort/) or the Ramada Disney Main Gate (http://www.ramada.com/Ramada/control/Booking/property_info?propertyId=05756&brandInfo=RA). They are right across the street from the park. If you go through a travel agency like our partner Magical Journeys (http://www.yourmagicaljourneys.com/) or through a student travel agency, or through Disney Travel (http://bookdlr.reservations.disney.go.com/ibcdlr/en_US/_framework/components/processEngine)or one of the airlines directly you can sometimes get a good deal when buying airfare, hotels and tickets together as a package deal. I worked for the largest student travel company in the world for 10 years, so I DO know the Student Travel market.

If you are just looking for hotels it will just take a lot of searching online (and you can search the Hotel forum here on INTERCOT for some ideas, or send me a PM if you would like to be steered in the right direction) for a good deal. If you can find anything in walking distance under $100 it's a good deal. If it's between $100-150 a night, it's about normal for that time of year.

Official Spring Break season runs from the 3rd week of February through the 2nd weed of April and the parks will be busy, but as a normal rule, it's less busy Monday-Thursday and weekends will be packed. The secret is start early, use Fast Passes and pack a lot of patience, and don't forget the Beer Truck located in the Wharf at California Adventure!

I have never been to the park and seen crazy rampant Spring Breakers ... it's not exactly a location like Cancun, in fact, it's been WAY more hectic during Cheerleader Conventions IMHO!

My best advice would be get some help from a professional ... Magical Journeys (http://www.yourmagicaljourneys.com/) might just be the place to start!

Thanks very much, NotaGeek. It's always good to get details from someone who's more knowledgeable about a subject than I am! I'll be sure to check out those motels you mentioned.

Would anyone know how far in advance I should book flights, a room, and buy tickets for DLR? :yay:
