I was wondering what everyone's "fun" restaurant is and why?

O'hana
50's Prime Time Cafe
Sci-Fi Dine In Theater
Rainforest Cafe
Whispering Canyons
Hoop-Dee-Doo Review
Spirit of Aloha Luau

Although I like the food at 'Ohana much better, for the fun aspect, I really like Sci-fi!

I agree with the above poster. Although we love Ohana's, I really like the food too. As far as straight out fun factor, I went with Sci Fi too...we got there for the atmosphere, as well as the milkshakes :yum:

I had to go with 50's. We have eaten there every year we have been at WDW except for one year. There has never been a bad experience for us here. The best time was two years ago when my husband was "misbehaving" and our cousin put him in time out with his nose in the corner. IT WAS GREAT!!!!!!!!!!!! I loved it and everyone got a big kick out of it.

I've only been to the 50's diner so that's the one I obviously voted for. Our next trip includes Spirit of Aloha and Ohanas.

I voted for Rainforest Cafe. DH and I were there last year and really liked it.

We are still babies compared to most of you here. Next month will be our 2nd time staying on Disney property. We took the family in 2006. We love the whole experience and are looking forward to many more trips with and with out the kids.

I love Prime Time 50's cafe. It's a great environment and it reminds me so much of my grandmom's kitchen! I was thinking about doing it for my next trip, but I think DBF will like Sci-Fi better.

Hi Kat what a fun question! I voted for 'Ohana basically because the last few times we have gone our kids have been pretty young. It will be that way this year too with my little one being only 3 yo. The activities they have for them at 'Ohana are really geared for the younger ones. Maybe the next time around we can do some of the other fun places you listed.

We will be doing Hoop Dee Doo Review this year and I can't wait I have been wanting to go ever since I was a kid myself. We never were able to get an ADR but this year I did!

We have eaten at the RFC too but we can do that anytime we have one locally so we don't go there while at WDW. The funny thing though is that when I am really missing WDW I take the girls there. It kind of reminds me of Disney.

Anyhow great question!

We like Ohana s too but Sci Fi is all about fun. Eating in those cars and watching the old movies.

I must be pretty boring or easily entertained b/c I've only gone to one on the list!
My dad used to drag us to Spirit of Aloha (doubt it was called that then) every trip to the point I hated it and finally we refused to go. It wasn't the entertainment but the food was not tasty.
I have to admit you all are convincing me to give SciFi a try!
Anyone out there go to the Luau years ago and afraid to try Spirit of Aloha? I wonder if it's changed, certainly the food had to change.
Sorry I didn't feel that I could give a fair vote but if I did I might pick Ohana's b/c we want to try that next trip....

I went with Ohana. It's one of my favorites. Sci-Fi is fun for the atmosphere but the food wasn't all that great.

Gotta go with SciFi, it takes me back to when we used to go to the drive in...it was just so much fun. The last drive in movie I saw was St Elmo's Fire. A long long time ago.........

It was a tough choice for me between 50's PTC and the Whispering Canyon - we really have a great time at both. The memory of the waitress at 50's trying to force Mike to eat his veggies, though, pushed me to select 50's! :mickey:

From the places I've been to, I'd have to say 50's Prime Time Cafe, but after going to O'Hanas in Sept, I might change my mind! ;)

I voted for Sci FI Dine in, because from what you had on the list, it is my favorite. Not necessarily for the food... It was okay, but we had a really great CM who made our experience a lot of fun. We're going to Whispering Canyon Cafe and 50's Prime Time for the first time on our Dec. trip, so my favorite could change. Who knows...

156 more days!!

the Sci-fi drive in my opinion is by far the best. the only downfall for it is the "movie" they play is short and loops quickly. the poor people that work there at times were walking around like zombies repeating it word for word.

Since another family favorite is not listed (Chef Mickey's), I've gotta go with Sci-Fi. Love the atmosphere!

O'hana is definately our favorite from your list, with Whispering Canyon coming in 2nd.

O'hana is a really FUN place to go with kids as well as a romantic place to go as a couple.

On our first visit there, we were pleasantly surprised at all the FUN activities for the kids.

The "Hawaiian Luau" lady gathers all the kids from their tables and takes them around the restaurant to do activities like the limbo, singing Hawaiian songs, playing maracas, gives them leis & other games. The kids had a blast and it was lots of fun to watch them. :lei:

The food at O'hana is WONDERFUL. There is a big variety that they bring to your table family style and even our 2 picky eaters found several things they they liked. It will be a standard for every visit we make to Disney World. :papple:

We love Sci Fi & it's on our list of must do's every trip! We really enjoyed Ohana's - the view is so pretty! WCC is a lot of fun - the kids loved the yelling! RFC is always a favorite but Sci Fi is so hokey that's it's cool!

The one place I personally enjoyed which was the WCC. My pre-teens like the Rainforest Cafe. But one place, not on the list, we all like is Chef Mickeys.
