One Time Points Purchase

I am close to jumping in and becoming a new DVC member and purchasing points at the new AKL. We're thinking that 250 points would be a good start. My question is.....if at some point in time I need extra points to get me the accomodations I need, and I've already tapped into my future years points allotments, can I purchase additional points from Disney (or someone else) for just that one trip? I realize I can add on additional points from Disney for all future years...but I'm interested in knowing the answer about a one time event. Also, if you can purchase points, what is the going rate? If you find you need additional points for just one trip, you can:

pay cash for the DVC room (and maybe get a 25% discount if available)
Pay for a 1-time transfer of points from another DVC member
Rent points from another DVC memberIf you want to permanently add-on points, you can buy as few as 25 points (if you pay cash) or 50 points (if you finance) direct from DVC. It's a really easy process (I've done it 10 times already!)
