June 29, 1990 – The “Bonanza Outfitters” shop opened at Disneyland. (Replaced Pendleton Woolen Mills Dry Goods Store)
June 29, 1994 – The Disney/Touchstone film “I Love Trouble” was released.
June 29, 1996 – The “Mickey’s Toontown Fair” area opened in the Magic Kingdom at WDW. (Replaced Mickey’s Starland)
June 29, 1997 – Grammy Award winning country music star Kathy Mattea brought music from her album “Love Travels” to the Disney Institute Performance Center.
June 29, 2000 – The “Tonight Show” did a taping at Disneyland for a skit that would air on the show July 12, 2000. The skit was Jay Leno stole an Autopia car on a dare, eventually driving it onto “The Tonight Show” set with Donald Duck in hot pursuit.
June 29, 2000 – The Fantasia/2000 Masterworks, along with 75 pieces of animation art from the film were auctioned off at Sotheby’s in New York.
June 29, 2001 - The Lizzie McGuire episode “Obsession” aired on the Disney Channel.
June 29, 2002 – Mickey’s Star Spangled Pin Event took place at WDW’s Contemporary Resort.
June 29, 2004 – Walt Disney Records released “America’s Heart & Soul” soundtrack (featuring artists such as John Hiatt, George Woodard and Joel McNeely).
June 29, 2006 – Michael Russel, a 12-year-old boy from Kentucky, collapsed after riding Rock’n’RollerCoaster Starring Aerosmith at Disney-MGM Studios in WDW. The boy was rushed to Celebration Hospital where he was pronounced dead. Preliminary autopsy reports showed that the young boy had heart defects.
