I sure am not pleased that they are closing rock and roller coaster for the month of september!

with the free dining you would think that they could find a slower time to close one of the best rides!

I feel your pain. RNRC was closed in January when I was there. This is one of my Top 3 rides at WDW.

Crowd-wise September IS one of the slowest months. Much slower than October, August, or pretty much any month except January. That's the whole reason they offer free dining during September, so, though it'll stink to have HM and RNRC both down during part of Sept, they have to do it sometime.

I'm figuring that this rehab will probably focus on the recent problems that they had a few weeks ago with the LSM and the different sensors on it.

You also have to figure that with the recent attendance shooting up, there really is no slow time of the year anymore besides January and even that time is starting to pick up. Early December is pretty much gone as the slowest time of the year.

No joke, I was finally going to gather the courage to ride RnR this year...oh well, maybe next trip!

It's always hard to lose a favorite during your vacation.

Figment!

The rehab is still tentative and no dates have been set.

I feel your pain. I'm missing Haunted Mansion on this years trip - an all time favorite. :ill:

During 2003 BTMRR was closed for repairs when I was there, and that's one of my favorite rides. It happens.

The forces at Disney are doing all they can to ensure that I never ride RRC! ;)

Oh that's too bad. I had DD convinced that she should try it.

Yeah, I'm missing the Mansion, too this trip down. I imagine Disney chose Sept for RNRC because it is still a slower time and they really target families with small children then, since almost every kid 5-21 is in school in Sept. So, they figure that this was the best time. I suppose that there really is no good time to close a ride because, as posted above, there really is no "slow time" left and no matter when they close a ride, someone gets disappointed. Maybe you'll get lucky and they'll choose to rehab RNRC after your visit!

Since this is still not 'official' I'm closing this here and asking everyone to please post their replies in the current thread already underway on this subject in the News & Rumors forum.

Jason has the link in his reply.
