Have you ever seen a celebrity at Disney? After watching Prince Wiliam and Prince Harry talking about being at the Magic Kingdom, I thought this would be a fun topic!

I saw the guitarist from Guns 'N Roses on Sunset Boulevard, right outside Rosie's All American Cafe at MGM last June '06. :mickey:

I saw Michael Clark Duncan (from Armageddon and The Green Mile) in Disneyland. I was taking a picture of the Haunted Mansion, and he walked right past me, so I got a good accidental picture of him. I'll just say, he almost filled up the entire picture. He's a big fellow. The Disney guide that was with him tried to jump in front of my camera, so I assume Duncan asked to avoid pictures, autographs, and such. I guess the advantages of being famous are sometimes outweighed by the disadvantages, and I don't think it could get any worse than having a day at Disney disrupted by celebrity hounds following you around.

Believe it or not, every single time I go to WDW I see at least 10 celebrities. Acouple from my list include Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck, Cinderella, I could go on and on. I guess im just lucky!

When I was a CP at Disney-MGM I almost ran into David Copperfield and the model he was dating . . . Oh, I can't think of her name right now. Anyway they where walking really slow and I was trying to get past them so I wouldn't missed my shuttle.

The other person I saw was Bob Barker from the Price Is Right. I was standing by the Commissary doors back stage and he and his body guard walked past me.

I had an interesting conversation with a CM about this topic prior to some of the Flower Power concerts a few years back. He said a lot of celebrities come in disguise so no one knows who they are...specifically he was talking about Robin Williams coming disguised as an old Jewish man. He was interacting with guests and no one had a clue who he really was.

I think someone was pulling your leg on this one. CM's only find out that a celebrity is in the area if they are with a VIP CM to guide them and only just before they get there. If they are disguised they generally don't tell anyone they are there...so Disney doesn't even know.

At MGM I have seen Dolly Parton & Richard Gere (not together). Richard was eating at the Brown Derby.
At the Magic Kingdom I saw Kevin Nealon from Saturday Night Live walking down Main Street.

At Wet and Wild in 1981 I was introduced to Michael Jackson while he was getting ready to take a boat on the lake. That was before he got really weird. He was there with Janet and a big body guard. I have a picture of Janet and the body guard since they were sitting close to me by the wave pool.

I have a very luck girlfriend who was a College Programe Participant in the late 90's and she has described to me a few very exciting run ins.
I also know that there is a picture floating around the net of Stephen Colbert and his family outside DL's Star Tours ride.
During the golf classic last October I saw some of the PGA guys while staying at Old Key West but I didn't know who they where until a friend said something.

I saw Daryl Strawberry (sp?) at the Beach Club.
I also saw Jesse Jackson at the Beach Club.
I've seen Frank Gifford with the two kids at the Floridian...No Kathi Lee though.
I also have seen Roy Disney (obviously the nephew) 2 times. I've also seen a big football star. I can't remember his name which doesn't help, but my husband sure would. He's the one who noticed him.
On the Disney Cruise we also saw a PGA tour pro. Again, don't know his name, but my hubby would...

In 2004, we were walking from exit of Haunted Mansion and Pink and Corey Hart were being escorted into a back entrance. When I first saw the threesome approaching, I was a bit irritated by the woman because she had so much of her mid section etc. exposed ( I thought "C'mon, this is a family place. Save that for the nightclubs!") Anywayz, we saw them........big deal:sick:

December 2006 we met Kelly Ripa and family as they were coming off of Space Mountain, and Scotty Bowman (one of the all time greatest in hockey) in the Polynesian lobby.

Easter 2007 we ran into Mike Golic (sp?) from the ESPN show, "Mike and Mike" as he was coming off of Buzz Lightyear.

We saw Robin Givens (actress played in Head of the Class, and Mike Tyson's ex wife) at AKL in the gift shop. I spotted her, and told my DH, then he was following her around :shake:. I just keep on looking around in the shop and ignored her. We also saw Robbie Benson doing a Disney Channel commercial in Epcot. We watched for a minute or two, then moved on.

Our family has been pretty lucky in seeing stars. On our first trip back in '93, we saw Michael Jackson at disney quest. He brought his son and a friend. He had his bodyguards. Another year we saw Drew Carey at the California Grill. When we were on the Disney Cruise in 2004, we saw Stu Scott from ESPN. We saw Muhammad Ali two years ago at the Flying Fish and last year we saw Mike Holgrom, Coach for the Seattle Seahawks and Bill Elliott, race car driver. With the exception of Stu Scott, we saw all of them totally by accident.

Katie Curic was at the table next to us at the Hoop Dee Do Revue the week the AK opened. It was kind of neat.

I was in WDW for the millennium and got to see the Lawrence brothers. Mat we saw in EPCOT. People were laughing at him because he had about ten security guards with him. Joey and the Youngest brother we ran into a day later in the MK they were walking the park together with no security, he seemed to be a genuinely nice person.

The same year my wife was down there with her family, this was before we met, and her parents sat down for a parade and started talking to some random woman in the park, it turns out it was Barbra Striesand.

The best story that i have ever heard though was a former co-worker who was a CM doing the backstage tours at MGM. He said Robin Williams came on and asked to be the guide for the ride. according to him Robin was awesome, made the entire crowd laugh nonstop and even posed for pics with people after the tour. don't know if it is true or not but sounds pretty cool.

I very long time ago I saw Melissa Jone Hart and Ben Savage in MK, both there shooting pieces for a Christmas special. Not sure if it was for the current year (we were there only a few days before Christmas) or the next year. I wonder if they edit quickly or film waaaayy ahead of time.

Whoa...what kind of cruise was that? A special Disney Celebrity cruise or just pure luck that they all wanted to go on a trip?

Well, not in WDW. I did at DLR though. Twice..

The First time I was getting on the Monorail at the Disneyland Hotel to head to the Park.. Well they ushered a large group of people past and into the front pilots cabin. They passed right infront of me since I was first in line. It was Tom Hanks and a BUNCH of kids. We actually sat with the CM who was there to escort him around the park, a nice older gentleman who we talked to the whole trip to the park. He said that Hanks was there for his Sons birthday basically and those kids were his sons friends. Was pretty cool we actually came across him two more times that day. He was heading to New Orleans Square and we were heading to Indiana Jones so we walked behind him for awhile. Then again when we were riding the Rocket Rods we passed the Monorail station and noticed his group was standing there :)

The Second time was also at DLR and was some popular UK Pop group who were being Photographed or Interviewed or something. The group was called Steps no longer together though.. But still!

As much as I love to people watch, I don't know if I would even recognize someone famous if I saw them. I don't pay that much attention to others unless they're making a point to stand out. It would be pretty cool though. I may recognize someone if I was actually looking for someone, like sitting in a hotel lobby just watching people check in.

Too many years ago, my cousin used to work for Disney. She worked in underground in Public Relations. She was also a part of their VIP tours and toured Michael Jackson when he still had a nose and before he was weird(over 25yrs ago). She also toured Jimmy Carter when he was President, and Dean Smith just as everyone (in NC anyway, except me!) began to think he could walk on water. She said it was a great job. Then she got a divorce and moved back to NC. She had to be crazy back then.

Boy does this go back a long time, but in 1972 when I was in High School we participated in the Candelight Processional which was at the Magic Kingdom at that time and Gregory Peck was our guest speaker. He came underground and spent time with all the singers while we were rehearsing enmass & all I could think of was "my god-he's old". I'd only seen him as a young guy in movies............:silly:

About 5 years ago I won tickets to a taping of Live with Regis & Kelly at MGM Studios & got to actually meet & shake hands with Regis - he made fun of my crazy Disney hat & Kelly came through the audience. We had Kool & the Gang as the musical guest, but we managed to see Shakira, too. Special memories because I got to take my daughter out of school to share this time with me.:mickey:

In 2005 right around closing, my family was going to ride on Jungle Cruise and we get in line where we are all by ourselves. We get in the boat and could have went but we waited there for about 5 minutes and here comes walking up Lindsay Lohan and her family. Of course, she was talking on her cell phone the entire time.
