So, within the past 5 days, I've been to the movies twice. Most recently, to see Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer but before that, to see Ocean's Thirteen.

Now, I've enjoyed both of the previous Ocean movies, even if O12 wasn't quite up to par (in many people's eyes, not necessarily mine). What I like about these movies is the slickness of the caper, and the humorous interaction between the all-star cast. In O13, the entire caper is simple revenge, and within the first 20-25 minutes or so, you're basically laid out the entire plan, piece-by-piece, and all you have to do is sit back and watch it all unfold. I didn't think the story was all that good, I don't think there was anything put up there to laugh at for a good 25 minutes or so into the movie, and basically I considered it a decent, but not great movie. Lame story with a great cast.

I guess I would liken my feelings on this movie to that of asking a great vocalist, like Celine Dion, to sing something simple like "Row Row Row Your Boat". Her incredible talent would make it tolerable, but it's still something too simple, too beneath her talent to be memorable.

I disagree. I thought Ocean's 13 was great! I found the plot very entertaining. I thought it was more interesting than 12 for sure. I really enjoyed that it was back in Vegas and even though the heist may not have been as complicated as the others it was a lot of fun to watch!

Sorry you didn't enjoy the movie. In an Entertainment Weekly I got a few weeks ago, they gave it a really good review. I'm still anxious about seeing it though. I was a huge fan of the first one, and after the second one, I was glad to hear some good coming from the third.

I guess we'll see!

Completely disagree,
I thought this one was fantastic. The cast was on top of their game, the addition of Al Pacino made it worthwhile. The lack of Julia made it even better.

My big question though-
Why would you ask Celine Dion to ruin a great song like "row row row your boat"?:secret:

I like Ocean's Thirteen more than Ocean's Twelve. It had some hilarious moments like when there was the Spanish rebellion and when Ocean and Brad Pitt were watching Oprah, "Are you watching Oprah?" :rotfl:

One part that is very funny is when Ocean has a disguise in the casino as a guy with a black outfit and he has a mustache. :funny:

I would like to see it again. It doesn't get very close to Ocean's Eleven but still was a great movie IMO. :joy:

I thought it was fantastic. It was very funny, had some amazing visuals, (That hotel looks real!) and had amazing acting. To really get it, though, you had to be paying attention the entire movie, but that wasn't an issue. It was just a very entertaining movie.
