Today we go to the Epcot sister resorts. Is it Yacht Club or Beach Club?

Y100Q57 will be in Dining, probably on Thursday.

The review of questions 41-50 will be available later this week or early next week.

Have not stayed at either one. I have seen them both from the boats, and as a passerby there does not seem to be that much difference. But I have to vote, so "Beach" sounds more relaxing the "Yacht".

Both are pretty good themes. I'm from Massachusetts though, so I don't see any need to go all the way to Florida for a nautical New England theme. That is why I voted for Beach Club, which also seems more laid back, and less stuffy. :vacation:

I went with Beach Club, but it was a tough choice. I love the look of both of them. I haven't stayed at either resort.

I haven't stayed at either, and I felt silly voting for the Beach Club, based solely on the fact that "Yacht" sounded too Thurston J. Howell III....

But then I read pshokie and Darthmacho's comments...

And we seemed to have formed a club.

To tell you the truth I'm very impressed with either. We stayed at the Beach Club one year and I really didn't care for it. The walk to Epcot was the best perk. The dining options were limited at best (I'm talking about in the hotel, the only place for a quick bite was Beaches and Cream and that was sit down. I like having the options of a food court type eatery so if someone is hungry we can run down grab what we want and go. I am aware that the Boardwalk has eateries but, that requires quite a bit of walking for a "quick" bite). The pool was great! The hotel just didn't feel as fun Disney as the others we have stayed at. Just my opinion.

when i stay in the epcot area i always go w/ the boardwalk, but if the boardwalk was booked i would go w/ the yacht club. i find the beach club and its rooms unappealing. seafoam green makes me shudder.

Stuffy usually works for me but not in this case. I'm a beach kind of gal. Plus the Beach Club is closer to Epcot.

I like the Yacht Club, mostly because of the decor. But the Beach Club is nice too.

I went with the Yacht Club because of the balcony issue. I can't imagine paying those rates for a room and ending up with a tiny, standing only balcony. You're nearly gauranteed a balcony at the YC, but likely to not get one at the BC.

i was wondering about the balcony issue. yet another reason to go w/ the yacht club.

I have only stayed at the Beach Club, so that is why I voted for it! Although, I don't think you could go wrong with either one of them. :mickey:

We found the YC to be superior to the BC. The room condition/decoration and the staff were much better at the YC.

I haven't stayed at YC and stayed at BC last Dec. I voted for BC - I agree about the stuffiness issue at YC (although it does have Yachtsman Steakhouse, definitely a plus).

I like the location of BC and Beaches & Cream/Cape May Cafe. The only thing I really disliked about BC is their idea of a foodcourt....

They are very similiar but we had a bad room at the bc once so I like the yc. However,bc has the marketplace with the refillable mugs which is nice. Also, I got stuck all alone in the elevator at the bc. I had to call on the emergency phone.

I had to go with the Yacht Club. The grounds are beautiful and I love the feeling of walking through the lobby!

Haha!
Yacht Club = Thurston Howell and "Lovie"

Beach Club = Ginger and Mary Ann

I picked Yacht Club. I've not stayed at either, but have walked through and eaten there. I love them both! My goal is to stay at one of them during F&WF one year!

I love the yacht club's old timey east coast resort feel - which is so different from anything in my life in Central Texas.

We stayed at the Beach Club Villas a couple of weeks ago so I voted for the Beach Club. I think the fact that it's closer to Epcot gives it that edge. The Yacht Club looks a lot more plain.

Unlike most of the people who voted on this choice, I HAVE stayed at both. I have stayed at the Beach Club more but I really liked the Yacht Club the most. They were both relaxing. The Yacht Club is more expensive feeling whereas the Beach Club is more airy and sporty. Since we usually head to EPCOT after breakfast at Cape May, the walk is no different. And I love dinner at the Yachtsman Steakhouse. A better steak isn't to be found anywhere on Disney property.
