WDW Jobs

I have always wanted to work at WDW but have never lived close enough to do so. I have even applied to several jobs posted on Disney's website in the past, but have never received a response. I heard that Disney will not offer you a job unless you live in the area (or at least Florida). I have also noticed that most of the jobs posted on the Internet require a "knowledge of WDW policies and procedures", leading me to believe that I wouldn't have a chance unless I already work for them. I now live within a couple of hours of the parks and thought it would be great to work there seasonally to "get my foot in the door". When I called about seasonal employment, they said that I would need to initially provide them with full-time availability for 8-12 weeks, then I could work out a seasonal schedule after that. Sounds like you have to start full-time employment before you can go part-time/seasonal.

So what's the real story of how to get a job at WDW? What do they look for? :confused:
