Even though a few of y'all like to tease & call me "Doctor Ice" (now THAT would be a big promotion!!) I am technically only a Therapist. However, since I have passed certain qualifications required by Civil Service laws, I qualified for a promotion to TRS2 (Therapuetic Recreational Specialist, level 2) which is as high as one can get promoted without actual liscensure. This promotion is retroactive to last month, so I'll get a little chunk of back pay once the paperwork goes through!
Even though by CS mandate I fall under the category of TRS2, my actual field is specialized on Experinetial Therapy first (or ROPES, where I am the head honcho for our facility on the food chain), Recreation Therapy (physical activity groups as well as social skills, leisure education, etc.) and most recently pulling duty as a Music Therapist.
So even though there is no MD or PHD behind my name, I can sign documents "TRS2" as well as "MTRF" and "CCI" and as The Ancient Rocker!

Well TRS2-MTRF-CCI-Ancient Rocker-Ice Man I don't know much of what you just said but man is that a long title to have. Wonder how it will fit in VMK? Try to say all that. But I do understand the promotion part. Great work Ice! Especially with the more $$$!

chrisb26 Well TRS2-MTRF-CCI-Ancient Rocker-Ice Man I don't know much of what you just said but man is that a long title to have. Oops, my bad! "MTRF" is Master Training ROPES Facilitator & "CCI" is Challenge Course Instructor. Technically they aren't actually used or recognized by the State, so for the time it is only TRS-2.
And I would never burden y'all with trying to place all that alphabet soup behind my name, here or on VMK!

Varcity bay be, if I were you, I'd run for the hills as fast as those long legs of yours will take you.

Ice, I feel your promotion is due to all the extra experience you get in dealing with us on VMK. In fact, I sometimes wonder if we are little guinea pigs on that big treadmill of life with you watching and analyzing our every little move and badly typed words. BTW get that guest house ready soon, I need 24 hour therapy sessions, and not sure even that will help.

My dear padawan. I guess have no believe in the force. :yoda:

I was not the one that got stuck in the cave because of size. Those cuts heal yet. ;)

Ice, your experience and knowledge of things has been an asset to all of us. You have been able to help Jeremy understand what is happening to him and helped him make it through this hard time. You've done that for a lot of us. I can't imagine life without you these days.
:thanks:

Aww shucks, y'all are too much! The feeling is very mutual; for all that you feel I do for you, you all help keep me busy & out of trouble when the wife is away. In between band practices (2 nights a week) and work (5 days a week) I have ton's of free time where, up until meeting all of you, was spent moping around or vegging in front of the TV. Now I can have fun interacting (in the virtual world) with a great bunch of people with some of the same passions as I. SO THANK YOU ALL RIGHT BACK!

As for the guest house... Inside; done. Outside; work in progress (think it is why my back has been acting up so bad.)
Check "Things of Interest" for some new photo info!

:clappy::woohoo::rocker: Congrats Ice, you little, I mean, you big Rocker Dude! Let's have a race to see how many letters we can add to our names. Ready, GO!!

A race? Only if you run with one foot tied behind you back!
A lot of ppl here at the hospital sure do overvalue & place way too much importance on what I call "alphabet soup", but to me it means little. It's nice to be recognized & valued and what-not for what I (and others) do, but most of the time I don't even use the simple TRS designation when signing stuff at work. Now, I have to when doing patient charts so they know who & what discipline made the note, but otherwise, it seems a bit "stuffy" to me.
So, here we go then with the race...
ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZ! I win!

Wow! I didn't even have my shoes tied yet.;)

Yeah, I know what you mean about stuffy. Some wear it well, others don't.
