my family has been looking into the disney vacation club and we are wondering if the dining package is available to dvc-ers at discounted rates or is it not available at all.

thanks in advance

It's available to DVC members but not at a discount. We pay the listed price. It is for the entire length of stay for everyone staying in the villa.

It is available you just have to be sure and book it ahead of time. It's not something you can add one once you arrive.

Anyone know what it costs for adults and children? I know I've seen it somewhere around, but I'm too lazy to look it up! ;)

Nevermind, I found it ... it's actually quite a bit cheaper than I thought!

The Disney Dining Plan is an available add-on option to the Magic Your Way Vacation Package (http://www.intercot.com/resorts/packages/mywpackages.asp). The additional cost is $37.99 per night per (increasing to $38.99 in 2007) adult or junior (ages 10-17), $10.99 per night for children (ages 3-9).
