Dining Plan Kids Menu Specialty Drinks

Does anyone know if kids can order specialty drinks on the DDP (milkshakes,specialty cups with light up ice cubes...etc...)or is this a seperate price?
Last year we ordered several for them that had a keepsake cup, but the prices were a bit more than maybe a Coke.

I know that when we had a meal at the Rose & Crown we were able to order a regular drink (soda, etc.) and then a milkshake or dessert-type drink. They were both included in the DDP. I'm not sure about novelty cups.

A: There are no separate menus for the Disney Dining Plan, but individual locations do control what items are excluded from the plan. Although exclusions are generally minor, most regularly exclude the following items:

Merchandise and Photo Imaging
Pizza delivery
In-room mini-bars
Souvenir or refillable drink mugs
Glow Ice Cube Drinks
Alcoholic Drinks
Specialty Non-Alcoholic Drinks
Entrée "add-on"
Sampler Platters

Individual locations can vary what is excluded from the plan from seating to seating, so Guests are encouraged to check with their server prior to ordering for items excluded from the plan at their time of meal.

Last fall at Coral Reef, DD asked for a glowcube drink after seeing several kids leave with them while we waited for our table. We agreed that she could have a blue whale (with glowcube) as a special treat (it was around $6). This charge was in addition to our DDP credits. It did not come with a refill, so she also drank the beverage included with the DDP.

We went in Dec and the Concourse allowed us to order Smoothies instead of soda, juice. It was part of the DDP. We also visited 1900 Park Fare and the Glow Cube drink was extra.
