Today's competition is between two of the more upscale eateries. Would you go for California Grill or Shula's?

Y100Q36 will appear in Vacation Planning, most likely on Tuesday.

The review of questions 21-30 should also come out later this week...

I have heard wonderful things about Shula's. But California Grill still has my imagination. I remember eating there when it was "The Top of The World", and they had the BEST breakfast buffet. And some day I would LOVE to take my DW up there to see it, and watch the fireworks.

Shula's is not even on my radar, Cali Grill sounds interesting. I love the Contemporary. :mickey:

I have to say California Grill. No matter how wonderful Shula's may be it'll never be CG. Watching the fireworks explode over Cinderella's castle while having a wonderful meal and great wine in the most magical place in the world could never be outdone IMHO.

I still have trouble thinking of the Swan and Dolphin as WDW hotels. Something non-Disney about them to me. Not sure what it is. Oh well just my two cents. I'm sure some people love them.

I voted for Shula's - I approached it from a food perspective. While the Cali Grill is definitely more Disney and I would love to check it out just for the view and to watch the fireworks - I even almost booked it for my Oct trip - the menu is just not my thing.

My DH and I love California Grill. Just the view is worth the trip. Of course, the last few trips we have not been as impressed with the menu as we had been several years ago (so we tried Artist Point on our last trip and have now made that a must do), but we love the sushi! Plus, I find the servers to be very helpful and friendly.

Yes, Top of the World! One of my first dinners at Disney was the Broadway at the Top review back in 81 when I was a kid. It was great! It wins for this reason alone, but also... Shula's is an upscale steakhouse chain like so many other upscale steakhouse chains. I prefer California Grill's more unique feel as well as the location.

CA Grill. No contest. The combination of the view, the wine, and the food can't be beat!

I've eaten at shula's in miami but I think while at the World i'll have to give a slight edge to California Grill primarily for the ambiance.
