Day 8 Friday April 27

At this point in the trip I have gotten ill. I was feeling unwell a bit on Day 7 but it really hit me today. Sore throat, stuffed up and pain in ears as well as cough. Ouch...I took my meds and carried on!

Got up early to make our way over to the Polynesian for breakfast at O'hana. Took bus to MK and then caught the boat over to Poly. This is a great way to see the resorts that line the banks of Seven Seas Lagoon and the monorail (http://family.webshots.com/photo/2324220270056953537XttSUY?vhost=family). The Grand Floridian (http://family.webshots.com/photo/2634766690056953537xsDnSt?vhost=family), the Contemporary (http://family.webshots.com/photo/2549662140056953537reDojJ?vhost=family) and the Polynesian (http://family.webshots.com/photo/2251106950056953537YfHbkY?vhost=family). We took some time since we were early to enjoy the atmosphere of the Poly on the beach (http://family.webshots.com/photo/2334238870056953537Ekpkbi?vhost=family) and by the pool (http://family.webshots.com/photo/2365670990056953537ERcsen?vhost=family) along the walkways (http://family.webshots.com/photo/2774442820056953537jwWTOf?vhost=family) and of course in the gorgeous lobby (http://family.webshots.com/photo/2746028690056953537lQJTKc?vhost=family). The character breakfast at O'hana is very good and my boys are HUGE Stitch (http://family.webshots.com/photo/2090329530056953537YxvsZQ?vhost=family) fans so this was very exciting for them!

After breakfast we hopped the monorail and got the cockpit (http://family.webshots.com/photo/2723179310056953537MVHFTa?vhost=family) on the Epcot line! It gives you such a wonderful perspective as you enter Epcot and it is a nice long ride from TTC to Epcot! We managed to get the front cockpit a few times on this trip!

When we got to Epcot we hit the character connection and when they found out it was my parent's 50th anniversary they did something extra special for them. This is so exciting and not something you see every day. They got all of the characters to join together to have a picture with my parents! A Magical moment to be sure and one they will always treasure. They bought a frame and have THIS (http://family.webshots.com/photo/2299395150056953537mitYol?vhost=family) on their mantle now. Mickey also presented my parents with a pin and certificate to commemorate the event. When we left the character connection we saw a character that we have never seen in the parks. He was out as it was BUG (http://family.webshots.com/photo/2307042420056953537OdwySL?vhost=family) Weekend at Epcot.

We hit all the rides in FW except Mission Space since both dad and I felt ill on it last time we rode. We did play in the Mission Space labs though. That is lots of fun! Then we headed over to WS and took boat over to the Boardwalk (http://family.webshots.com/photo/2550918770056953537SPwTbw?vhost=family) to have dinner at the ESPN Club (http://family.webshots.com/photo/2997831540056953537CdxGLO?vhost=family). Back to Epcot we went and toured WS for a bit and then headed back to resort since I was not feeling to well.

Day 9 Saturday April 28

Still ill....coughing a lot and sore throat. Spent a ton of money in gift shop buying throat lozenges, cough medicine and decongestants. Nothing was going to keep me from enjoying my trip. I am sure I got sick as I had just barely recovered from my surgery when I left and considering I might have had to cancel if tumor was cancerous...I was just glad to be at WDW and to be alive. A little sore throat and cough was NOT going to keep me down so...

Off to Blizzard Beach (http://family.webshots.com/photo/2882809740056953537UivuUK?vhost=family) we went to meet up with Piglet822 (Jeanne) and her clan! We actually missed one another where we were supposed to meet. Thank heavens for cell phones, as we finally found one another. The problem was, I hadn't seen Jeanne since 2005 and last time we met she had brown hair and I had blonde. Well...now I am a brunette and she has blonde highlights! :D We had a fantastic day together! After BB it was back to resort where my boys continued their fun in the pool (http://family.webshots.com/photo/2429101040056953537AWbYMj?vhost=family) with Jeanne's son and friend. I could hardly talk by this point so I relaxed in room. Can't wait until tomorrow as we are meeting up with Piglet822 and crew once again!

Sorry to hear that you weren't feeling well... but being that you were at WDW, somehow we find the energy to be the Energizer Bunny, huh? Glad that you met up with Jeanne and her gang though.

Again, thanks for the pictures! :)

You are really doing it right! The nicest thing about long stays is that you can really do things at your own pace....and see it all! Your trip to 'Ohana for breakfast, then over to Epcot is a great example of this! What a fabulous keepsake for your parents. You keep making me all shivery!! I am sorry that you aren't feeling well....and even though one goes broke buying the stuff at the resort shop....It is great that they have it there for us!! :mickey:

I'm loving your pictures by the way. I have a really slow connection so I just now saw the Chef Mickey's photos. I think it was Chef Mickey's.... At any rate, you have the right attitude, that's for sure! Better to be sick in WDW than a lot of other options! Glad you have been able to enjoy your trip and muster up the strength to keep having fun. Thanks so much for the report.
