I put down a deposit yesterday with Magical Journeys. We haven't been to Disney since 2004. Just me and the boys. My Wife is going to Peru on vacation with her mom sooo I said I would take the boys somewhere. We are doing the meal plan and staying at All Sports. My question is "Is the meal plan easy to use and will it be worth it?"

Yes, it is easy to use (with some advance planning) and yes, it is certainly worth it.
Please answer the following questions, and I can help you better.

1. What are the dates of your vacation?
2. How many nights total?
3. Do you have park hoppers?
4. How many boys and how old?

Please leave another post, and I will be very happy to offer my advice based on many visits, many meal reservations, and many days on the meal plan.

Also, I am willing to bet that a moderator will move this thread to "Dining." Be ready to check back in that area of Intercot.

Thanks,

Yea I kinda thought after I posted it I should have put it in Dining. It didn't start out as a dining question though, just wanted to tell everyone we are going to Disney again.

To answer the question - is it easy to use? Yes. You just hand the server your key card and they deduct the appropriate amount of credits. That simple. Just be sure to make all of your ADRs for your TS meals. All the details can be found here (http://www.intercot.com/infocentral/dining/diningplan/default.asp).

As for if it's worth it...that very much depends. If you like to eat a table service every single day then, probably so. When it was just me and my son last November we only ate at a couple of TS meals. We preferred to just stay spontaneous and eat CS most of the time. In that case it definitely was not worth the price. You can click here (http://www.intercot.com/infocentral/dining/diningplan/estimator.asp) to get the Intercot DDP estimator and it will tell you whether or not the DDP is a good deal for you.

OH Great ages to take to DW!

The DDP is so easy! I have been researching the heck out of it, since I plan on using it on my next trip.

Here on Intercot, there are so many great resources to help you! They have a great spreadsheet that really helps you decide not only where to eat, but how many DDP credits it takes and if it will save you money.

I noticed if you avoid using your credits on buffets, you really do get your money's worth.

Although, I don't think you should focus on the value, but more of the fact...it is so much easier to deal with than using cash and charging the whole time. I know that is the main reason I am doing it.

As for where to eat, Infocentral also has great menus of each place on the DDP. I spent a week looking at each menu to help me decide where to make my ADRs. I was so hungry all that week

Actually, I just noticed the dates of your vacation. The "free dining" promotion begins 8/26, so you can get the DDP "free" for your vacation (you pay rack rate for the room instead of getting a discounted room hence the "free" remark). Contact Magical Journeys (http://www.yourmagicaljourneys.com/) and they can get that taken care of for you. That said, you're well under the 180 day ADR window and with free dining going on getting ADRs can be a pain. You need to call ASAP.
