May 6, 1915 – Legendary film director and actor Orsen Wells was born in Kenosha, Wisconsin. He would later be the voice of Eastern Airlines commercials (the official airlines of WDW in the 1970’s) and be heard in the queue area of the now-extinct “If You Had Wings”attraction.
May 6, 1916 – Actress Adriana Caselotti, who would supply the voice and personality of Walt Disney’s 1st feature length cartoon heroine, Snow White, was born in Bridgeport, Ct.
May 6, 1938 – Disney’s Mickey Mouse cartoon, “Mickey’s Trailer”, was released.
May 6, 1940 – The Disney Studio completed a move into new quarters in Burbank, Ca.
May 6, 1984 – The Disney Channel Premiere Film “Gone Are the Dayes” aired.
May 6, 1985 – The first of 120 episodes of the Disney TV series “Dumbo’s Circus” aired.
May 6, 1988 - The Norway Pavilion opened at Epcot along with the following: Restaurant Akershus, Kringla Bakeri og Kafe; The Puffin’s Roost; and The Fjording.
May 6, 1989 – The decomposing body of actor Guy Williams, who was best known for his role on Disney’s “Zorro”, was found in his apartment in Buenos Aires, Argentina. He apparently died of a heart attack a week earlier, and police discovered his body after neighbors complained about a strong odor coming from his apartment.
