Ok, my May WDW trip got canceled because my exboyfriend couldn't come through with the tickets he won. Now I plan on going to Myrtle Beach with a friend. I have never been here before, at all! We are two 27 and 32 year old girls that just want to have a nice, fun 3 day weekend. Any tips? What is there to do there? Anything I should not miss? Any hotel recommendations? Any tips that anybody can give me would be appreciated! Thanks!!!! :)

I went to Myrtle Beach last year, mainly to visit the Myrtle Beach Pavilion. Sadly, it closed last season. There's a small amusement park called Family Kingdom. It's fun, but not too nice. Still, you can spend a few hours there. Also, check out Broaway by the Beach, a big Downtown Disney-like place. There's a large Hard Rock Hotel, restaurants, and shopping there.

Hmmm...exboyfriend, huh? No wonder he is an ex...he can't even get WDW tickets! :) Now if you need a boyfriend, you can call me. Oops, sorry, Intercot is not a dating service.

While I appreciate the offer, I think it will be awhile before I date after him!

A Hard Rock is good...I collect shot glasses from there!

My friend and I are looking forward to it even though we don't know what to expect since we've never been there. Of course there are tons of beaches in FL that we could easily get to, but we wanted something different. We are attracted to the idea of there being tons of stuff to do right on the beach, that way we don't have to drive everywhere. My brother told me it's kind of like Atlantic City without all the casino's. Sounds good!

My family loves Myrtle Beach! I'm really sad that the Pavillion closed down...DH & I had some fun times there :coaster: We always stay at the Sandcastle Hotel - it's not super fancy, but it has a couple of nice pools & a lazy river ride. Family Kingdom is close by but doesn't have a lot in the way of "thrill" rides. You can buy an all-day ticket or just purchase tickets for only the rides your interested in. Another thing that we always do is visit Ripley's Aquarium at the Boardwalk :shark: very cool.

We always go to Broadway at the Beach. It's a pretty amazing place. There are tons of stores, nightlife, restaurants and many other attractions, and it's all set up in a very scenic, boardwalk kind of atmosphere.

The kids love it for all the cool stores, the traveling souvenir vendors (with all the light-up stuff), and the kiddie rides. They also have a water park that has a "racin' river" which is like a lazy river only faster - it's 10 mph and you use boogie boards.

They also love the knight-themed mini-golf. And my DS(10) goes crazy for MagiQuest, which is a kind of interactive video game where you buy an electronic magic wand and explore through the castle & kingdom, doing quests.

The Clubs at broadway at the beach!!! There are every kind of club or bar possible they are great for a fun evening.:marg: I love Crocodile Rocks, its a piano bar, and froggy bottoms is good they have a great band. There is some bus transportation but there may be some driving required because there is not much down by the boulevard except small shops. Depending where you are staying most of the fun stuff to do is off the boulevard.
