Apr. 16, 1916 – Artist, author, and illustrator, Eyvind Earle, known for his work on Disney’s “Sleeping Beauty”, was born.
Apr. 16, 1921 – Actor Peter Ustinov, the voice of Prince John in Disney’s 1973 “Robin Hood”, and Captain Edward ‘Blackbeard’ Teach in Disney’s 1968 “Blackbeard Ghosts”, was born in London, England.
Apr. 16, 1928 – Disney’s Oswald the Lucky Rabbit cartoon “Ride’em Plow Boy” was released.
Apr. 16, 1931 – Disney’s Silly Symphony cartoon “Mother Goose Melodies,” was released.
Apr. 16, 1948 – Disney’s Donald Duck cartoon “Daddy Duck” was released.
Apr. 16, 1958 – The Disney TV show aired “Four Tale on a Mouse.”
Apr. 16, 1964 – Disney’s “Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln” exhibit past testing at WED headquarters in California, and was then shipped to New York for the World’s Fair.
Apr. 16, 1991 – The Disney TV series “STAT” began airing. (Ended May 21, 1991)
Apr. 16, 1999 – Epcot’s “International Flower & Garden Festival” began at WDW. (Ran through May 30)
Apr. 16, 2001 - Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge opened at WDW.
