Disney Theme Park Visitors in Japan Hit Record 25.82 Mil. In FY 2006
Kyodo News International, Tokyo

TOKYO -- Oriental Land Co. said Monday that the number of visitors to its two theme parks -- Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea -- in the year through the end of March rose 4.2 percent from a year earlier to a record 25,816,000 people.
The theme parks owed their first increase in the number of visitors in three years to unseasonably warm winter weather, various shows staged at DisneySea to celebrate the fifth anniversary of its opening, and the introduction of a new attraction, "The Tower of Terror," as well as special events organized at Disneyland, the company said.
The previous record was 25,473,000 people registered in fiscal 2003, when Disneyland commemorated its 20th anniversary.
