View Full Version : Poll - What's Your Favorite Theme Park Live Action Show (Large-Scale Shows)?
04-04-2007, 09:51 AM
Among the large, live action shows at the Theme Parks what is your favorite?
I vote "Beauty & The Beast"; however, "Festival Of The Lion King" is a close second.
04-04-2007, 09:56 AM
Maybe it's because it's new, and I've only seen it once, but I thought the Finding Nemo show in AK was fantastic.
I'm also a big fan of Beauty and the Beast.
I like Light, Motors, Action! Extreme Stunt Show a lot too.
04-04-2007, 10:18 AM
I vote Beauty and the Beast. I could watch it over and over again!
I voted for Festival of the Lion King. It's such a great show, we haven't seen it the last couple of times down. I think I'm due for another viewing.
04-04-2007, 10:44 AM
I voted for Beauty and the Beast. I have not seen Finding Nemo but I have heard it is great!!!
04-04-2007, 11:07 AM
Here's another vote for Beauty and the Beast! Lion King is a very close second. Haven't seen Nemo yet and Lights Moteurs Action is the only one I like the European version more.
04-04-2007, 11:18 AM
I voted for FOTLK, but from what I've seen of Finding Nemo, I'm pretty sure that's going to be my favorite once I get to see it. FOTLK is pretty fantastic...and B&B is good too. The stunt shows are kind of tired for me...especially LMA...I remember doing donuts in the snow covered parking lots in high school, and if I could figure out how to do that for 45 minutes straight, I could have a show in WDW.
As a disclaimer, I am an actor, so I DO tend to prefer the musicals more than anything else...so take my opinion for what it's worth.
04-04-2007, 11:59 AM
I voted for Indy, because it's the only choice that I've seen other than Beauty and the Beast, and even though I love Belle, Indy is a lot better attraction in my view. :mickey:
04-04-2007, 12:16 PM
Beauty and the Beast follow by Indy in a very extremely close 2nd!!!
04-04-2007, 12:20 PM
I voted for Festival of the Lion King. Haven't seen Finding Nemo yet, but will on my next trip.
This was a tougher choice than I expected; they're all good...
04-04-2007, 12:57 PM
B&B is number one on my list, since my wedding was themed B&B. FotLK is second. Can't wait to see Nemo in 32 days. Have to say no one in my family was thrilled with LMA. Mom loves Indiana Jones.
04-04-2007, 01:28 PM
Haven't seen Finding Nemo just yet, so I went with Lion King...it's just awesome! Didn't see it the last few times I went either, so I think I too am due for another round.
04-04-2007, 01:43 PM
I also haven't seen Finding Nemo yet, but I love Festival of the Lion King.
04-04-2007, 02:39 PM
I ultimately went with Beauty and the Beast, but I found it hard to choose between Beauty and the Beast, Nemo, and Lion King. I absolutely love all three!
04-04-2007, 02:47 PM
I'm shocked that folks are voting for B&B. I think that show is TERRIBLE! The FotLK is far superior. So is Indy and LMA. I haven't seen it, but I can't imagine Nemo wouldn't be better. As you can see, I'm very unimpressed with B&B - the only reason I go is for DD and 4 for a Dollar, who weren't even there the last trip...

According to the poll, I'm in the minority. I really, really liked the Stunt Show at MGM (maybe cause I have boys and they were SO excited!). I LOVE The Lion King, and I liked Indiana & B&B. I haven't seen Nemo yet, but it has to be better than Tarzan. :D
Lion King....... I know it is a live show, but is it really considered a live action show ?
I'm going to see the Nemo show at AK in a couple of weeks so I might have to change my vote when I return.:mickey:
And just for the record, if Tarzan Rocks was still playing, it would get my vote. :D
04-04-2007, 06:55 PM
I protest! Where is Fantasmic!?
04-04-2007, 07:27 PM
Holy Cow! I'm going to betray my very own name and say Tarzan Rocks (RIP)
Did you see Jane's arms!?! That woman is my hero and I loved the rollerbladers as well! Vocalist were ALWAYS amazing- which I'm sorry to say has not been true for other shows.
04-04-2007, 08:36 PM
For me, nothing will ever beat Beauty and the Beast. I've seen it on broadway twice and MGM does a great job of making a mini version of the real thing. Plus, the pre show group (can't remember their name) is FANTASTIC!
04-04-2007, 09:34 PM
I've always liked the Indiana Jones show, and I'm looking forward to the Lights, Motors, Action show as well.
I dunno why, but I was not terribly impressed with either the Lion King or Beauty and the Beast.
My favorite show of all at Disney is the British Invasion, though. I guess I'm more of a rock chick.
04-04-2007, 10:00 PM
I protest! Where is Fantasmic!?
I agree. When I saw the name of this thread I thought "This is going to be hard, do I vote for FOTLK or Fantasmic?" but Fantasmic wasn't there so I easily voted for FOTLK. I would put B&B at the bottom of the list. Finding Nemo was cute,LMA was exciting, and Indy is a classic, but none have any thing close to the talent showed n FOTLK!
04-05-2007, 07:39 AM
Finding Nemo for me i was quite knocked back with the show ,as i was expecting it to be dull as i didnt think much of the film :)
04-05-2007, 12:06 PM
I protest! Where is Fantasmic!?
Four reasons for not including Fantasmic.
(1) I consider it to be a closing show :smickey: [although it is live action].
(2) Best closing shows :fworks: had been rated on a previous thread.
(3) When I consulted with Goofup Polling:goofy2: prior to establishing the poll, they said it would skew the data since Fantasmic is offered only once daily & is not a recurring show, hence it would be the favorite.
(4) It's my poll.:judge: :D
04-05-2007, 12:17 PM
I agree that not only should Fantasmic be on the poll but I think that some of the closed shows like Tarzan that was mentioned earlier and Hunchback which closed a few years ago should also be included.
But, as you say it is your poll!!!
(If you saw my first version of this post, sorry that I quoted your poll incorrectly)
04-05-2007, 01:33 PM
I have to say Tarzan Rocks (even though it's not up there) - I LOVED the stunts they did. Can't wait to see Nemo!
04-05-2007, 08:29 PM
My vote is for Motors cars stunt show...I know it's cheesy, but there is so much going on. My DSs LOVE it!
04-06-2007, 01:39 PM
Though I never saw Tarzan Rocks, I do remember The Hunchback of Notre Dame in DS. I loved that one - RIP as well.
04-07-2007, 06:22 AM
I love B&B . My favorite songs are from the show.
04-15-2007, 12:57 AM
Beauty and the Beast is GREAT!!!!:mickey:
I especially like to go when 4 for a dollar opens the show! Those guys are rockin'.
FOTLK would be a close second!
04-15-2007, 01:54 AM
Festival of the Lion King is definitely my favorite. The energy of that show is magical. I never get tired of watching it. The only show on the list that I don't care much about is Beauty and the Beast because it feels tired and outdated. I feel that it has run its course and needs to be replaced. All of the others on the list are excellent.
04-15-2007, 02:04 AM
i am sorry i missed this poll, but i would have to say my fav is lion king with beauty and the beast a close second :mickey: :mickey:
04-15-2007, 06:00 AM
im between lion king and lights motor action!:)
04-15-2007, 10:31 AM
Indiana Jones is my favorite. But, I make sure to see all of the shows on this list.
Beauty and the Beast did seem to have the best preshow (warmup) of the bunch. The guys that came out to do the "soundcheck" and eneded up performing were just great!
04-15-2007, 10:57 AM
I voted for Nemo b/c that show incorporates some amazing "puppets" and I love the way the CM's interact with the puppets and the audience. They really used their imagination when creating Nemo and what they've done allows the audience to actively engage their own imagination.
04-15-2007, 11:21 AM
Of the attractions listed, Festival of the Lion King is definitely my favorite.
But I consider Fantasmic! a live action show, and it should be part of the poll.
04-15-2007, 11:58 AM
It's too bad we couldn't rank them. I voted for Nemo...maybe because it's new, but I also love FOTLK....of the rest, LMA is the worst and B & B is next. B & B isn't bad...it's just that is it's a cheap knock off of the movie. There's nothing original in it.
04-15-2007, 12:10 PM
I.m a big fan of Beauty and the Beast-- so it get's my vote. The Lion King show comes in a close scound.:) :) :)
04-15-2007, 06:20 PM
Love Beauty and the Beast! We try to catch it when 4 for a Dollar open. They are awesome!!!:mickey:
Thought Festival of the Lion King was good too!
04-15-2007, 06:24 PM
Festival of the Lion King rocks! Though I think the Cirq. show is way better that wasn't a choice and rightly so, it isn't in a park, but at DTD rather.
04-15-2007, 06:35 PM
I voted Beauty and the Beast. It's a little bit of Broadway right in MGM. I love the music, the costumes, the dancing - it is really fantastic.
04-15-2007, 09:16 PM
FOTLK -- We never miss it!:mickey:
04-16-2007, 07:56 AM
DW NEEDS to see Beauty anytime we get to MGM, which also puts us near ToT and RnR, so I can't complain.;)
04-16-2007, 09:55 AM
New, fresh and full of energy.
The competition seems unnecessary, though, we do 'em all.
04-16-2007, 06:07 PM
I am a musician and I would say Festival of the Lion King! WOW.. Love it!
04-17-2007, 01:32 AM
As Bert might say, Festival of the Lion King is the cream of the crop, tip of the top, and there we stop!
04-17-2007, 09:49 AM
Went w/ Beauty and Beast. Also, liked The Hunchback of Notre Dame when it was around too. The Little Mermaid show is good as well, in the dark.
04-17-2007, 10:59 AM
This was a toss up between Beauty and the Beast and Festival of the Lion King. I love both shows, but went with Beauty and the Beast only because I had to pick something. I haven't seen Nemo yet, but I'm really looking forward to it when we go in 233 more days!!!
04-17-2007, 12:51 PM
My number one vote is for the Lion King. That show makes me cry every time I see it. It is so moving and I just feel like I'm in the movie. It's so awesome!
04-18-2007, 11:14 PM
Since I haven't seen the new Nemo show, I voted for my favorite, FOTLK. I think it's awesome!
And since it is also my DD3's favorite, that just makes it all the better.
