Apr. 3, 1783 – Writer Washington Irving was born in N.Y.C. His classic story “The Legend of Sleepy Hollow” would be told in the 1949 Disney animated feature “The Adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad.”
Apr. 3, 1943 – Original Mouseketeer Doreen Tracey from “The Mickey Mouse Club”, and played Bobo Stephen in Disney’s 1956 movie “Westward Ho the Wagon!”, was born in London, England.
Apr. 3, 1946 – Disney’s Educational Film “Planning for Good Eating” and “Enviromental Sanitation” was delivered to the Coordinator of Inter-American Affairs.
Apr. 3, 1952 – Walt Disney submitted a sketch of “Fairyland” to California’s Recreation and Park Commissions.
Apr. 3, 1957 – The Disney TV Show aired “Disneyland the Park/Pecos Bill.”
Apr. 3, 1959 – Actor David Hyde Pierce, the voice of Dr. Doppler in Disney’s 2002 animated feature “Treasure Planet”; and did the voice over work in “A Bug’s Life”, and the TV series “Hercules” was born in Saratoga Springs, N.Y.
Apr. 3, 1961 – Comedian Eddie Murphy, whose Disney credits include “The Haunted Mansion”, and “Mulan”, was born in Brooklyn, N.Y.
Apr. 3, 1966 – The Disneyland attraction “Midget Autopia” closed in Fantasyland.
Apr. 3, 1976 – The Disney TV special “America on Parade,” hosted by Dick Clark, aired from Disneyland.
Apr. 3, 1977 – The Disney TV show aired “The Track of the African Bongo.”
