Apr. 1, 1996 – Disney’s “Aida” premiered for Disney executives at the New Amsterdam Theatre in N.Y.C. Disney execs thought of changing the name to “Elaborate Lives”, but stuck with the original name.
Apr. 1, 2000 - Indiana Jones and the Temple of Peril: Backwards! opened at Disneyland Paris.
Apr. 1, 2000 - The Tarzan Encounter Musical Stage Show made its debut at Disneyland Paris.
Apr. 1, 2001 - The Main Street Electrical Parade retired after 28 years of existence after exiting the Magic Kingdom and would be replaced by Spectromagic.
Apr. 1, 2001 – Walt Disney World combined the Port Orleans and Dixie Landings Resort into a single resort called Port Orleans Riverside.
Apr. 1, 2001 – Disney’s “River Country” water park celebrated its 25th anniversary.
Apr. 1, 2003 – Toon Disney, the 24 hour all animation cable network, began a month long anniversary to mark its 5th year.
