Our first night we have reservations for Whispering Canyon at 8:00 p.m. (May 25). I never realized this was so (tantalizingly) close to MK. Can we see the fireworks from this resort after dinner? Woud our timing be about right? We won't have park tickets yet, we are staying at the All Star Music for our first night, then moving to Beach Club. Thought it would be fun to see the Lodge and dine at this fun restaurant with our two boys. Any other suggestions for making our first night magical?

WCC is loads of fun, but in no way can you view fireworks from this restaurant. In fact, there are few places in the resort where you might see the MK from... Perhaps some of the higher floors I've heard, but in my experience, we've never been so fortunate to have that view.

You do, however, have a great location for the Electric Water Pageant. You can see this from the beach every night.

You should definitely check out the WL. It is quite a resort with incredible detail and theming! :mickey:

We've stayed at the Wilderness Lodge a view times and you can't really see the fireworks, though you sure can hear them! We would walk out to the beach or to the boat launch and catch glimpses of them, but you really only catch some of the really high ones. But Maleficent's Dad is right - it's a lot of fun to watch the Electrical Light Parade from the beach! :mickey:

You don't mention what time your ADR's are for, but you could ride the launch over to MK and watch the fireworks from the entrance area (if it's not too awful to be that close and not go in the park). That would also put you near the bus depot so you can return to ASMu.

We've also done as Jen and Maleficient's Dad have suggested and gotten a glimpse of the fireworks from the boat launch dock and then the EWP (http://www.intercot.com/infocentral/accomodations/electricalwaterpagent.asp)(it passes by WL around 9:35 pm). If you time everything right, you might even catch the geyser going off!

If you time your dinner to end about 10 minutes before the fireworks, just head over to the elevator, go up to floor 6 and follow the hallway over to the MK side of the lodge. You will come upon some corner windows that are HUGE. You can see (but not hear) the fireworks from there.
