We will be taking a trip in early May (9-15th) and we've never been during this time. What should we expect as far as crowds and heat? We will be taking a 5 year old and an 8 month old, so planning is essential! Thanks! :mickey:

We have been three times that week (the week of Mother's Day)... The crowds are very manageable- as is the weather.

It will get warm between 2-6pm (mid-upper 80's). We always did the parks early, broke for lunch around 11 (before the crowds), and then played until 1 (when it got hot and a bit more crowded), and then headed back to our resort for a nap/dip in the pool. We went back to the parks around 6 or 7 (and stayed for the evening EMH's).

I will say that in 2005- the Happiest Celebration on Earth was going on, and it did seem a bit more crowded than the year prior. Maybe a fluke.

I think you are going to LOVE this time of year. The flowers are in bloom, the parks are beautiful and the pools are perfect!

If we were able, we'd be going back in May also... But we're having to plan for late summer or fall instead. (Ever been in late July or August?)

First.............. :welcome: to Intercot.

We were there the week before your dates last year and we thought the weather was great. Temp's in the mid to upper 80's but not much humidity and shhhh :secret: no rain.

The crowds were very light at each park except AKL.

A mid day break is a good idea. Even if it is just to lay around the pool. :mickey:

Enjoy and don't forget your trip reports. :D

:welcome: to Intercot!

For exact weather, you can check the weather post at the top of this section when you're within 2 weeks out. Until then, click here (http://www.intercot.com/infocentral/weather/dailytemps.asp) to see the weather for your dates from the last 3 years.

We're also going May 12th -20th.The weather and crowds sound good.I think that we've decided that early to mid May might be our week to take our annual trek to Disney if all goes well this trip.Any time earlier is just not quite hot enough for us.I think that Feb. and March is a **** shoot as far as weather goes and April is to crowded with spring break and Easter.6 more weeks!!!

You didn't offend. While your reference was to a game, the software that catches such comments doesn't know the difference and so edits out those words automatically.

Just going to add my ditto to the others about this time of year usually being pretty good overall. The only thing to really be concerned about is that even though it is not that hot, the sun can be intense during the middle of the day so you will want to apply sun screen or do something else to protect the baby from the direct sun.

We'll be there the 9-16 also, so I'm glad to hear this is a good time of year!!! I usually go crazy the last few weeks before a trip, so I can't help you with what to do, other than frequent this site and read trip reports!!!

With the exception of last July, we have always gone in May. The weather is tolerable....Not to muggy or humid as July. Crowds aren't too bad either. School hasn't let out yet so it's not terribly crowded. Don't forget the sunblock for your darling little one. We will have our 7 month old GD with us and have been warned by lots of people to use sunblock. I know we all know it, but just a friendly reminder. We'll be there the same time, May 6-19 so maybe we'll see ya. Have a great time.
